The 3s were a symbol of the platform game genre in the gaming industry, where the hero had to jump over obstacles, avoid traps and get, ideally without dying, to the destination. Prince of Persia became the first breakthrough title at the time. Most players know the now long-forgotten series as a 1992D adventure game, but the original part was only two-dimensional and offered a unique addictive gameplay that inspired many other developers. One of them was also the creator of the game Flashback from XNUMX, which, although it did not gain such fame and renown as the mentioned Prince of Persia, but fundamentally influenced the further direction of the genre.
The game effectively combined remarkable puzzles, realistic game environments and levels that forced you to progress through trial and error. At the same time, it was one of the few to come up with a revolutionary, at least for that time, method of animation. It consisted of the principle of motion capture, where animators tried to capture the movement of real objects and then transfer it to the game itself. Now this somewhat neglected title is also aiming for iOS and Android in the original version, with only minor improvements. Flashback has already been released on mobile devices once, namely ten years ago, but this time the developer of the original version, Paul Cuisset, is involved in the port for phones.
Publisher SFL Interactive decided to shorten the wait for fans and released a Behind the Scenes video where the creator reflects on the original vision and describes the path his project has taken over the past 27 years. NestIt is often the case that the original developer would work on a new version of an old game. Usually, such endeavors are taken on by one of the established studios, and although they usually do quality work, the person behind the original creation is obviously a better choice. Not only does he have a personal relationship with the title, but he knows what players expect from it and can adapt to it. However, this isoneWe will finally try it out for ourselves on July 22nd, when the old-new game is released on App Store a Google Play.
Cool! Excellent game! Retro, like a pig. I played it on my Amiga 1200 maybe 10 times. I already have Another World on my iPad, so Flashback will definitely be missed!
it was also one of my top games on the amiga machine, that was the time.
Sometimes I play some Amiga games using an emulator on my Mac. Like Shadow of the Beast, SWIV, ProProject X, Alien Breed, Chaos Engine, etc. that's just my childhood!
Hey, my favorite, that was a TOP!
