iPads can be used not only as a replacement for a computer or smartphoneone, but also as an external display for your Mac. However, this is currently only possible with relatively demanding connections either through cables or software, of which there is a relatively large amount on the market. According to developer Guilherme Rambo's sources, however Apple is going to come in macOS 10.15 with its own solution. The wish of many apple lovers, who have been calling for exactly such an improvement for a long time, will probably come true.
iPads will get a new dimension with the arrival of this news in macOS 10.15:
The new product, which is currently hidden under the code name "Sidecar", should be a software solution that allows you to send or, if you want, share a specific window or application from your Mac to an iPad or other compatible product, which should expand the overall desktop quite a bit. Moreover, everything should be really simple, as is the case with Applu as usual. We should be able to select all the options for this sharing via a simple menu that will allow us to choose where the given element will be displayed.

It is also quite interesting that this solution should not function only as a kind of desktop extension. On supported iPads Apple Pencil It should be possible to edit the elements displayed on their display and return the edited ones to the Mac. So if you lack a touch screen on your Apple computers precisely because you would need to fine-tune something on them from time to time using Apple Pencil, apparently you Apple will offer a solution soon. The iPad will de facto become a Wacom-type tablet.

We will find out whether the information is true or not in about a month and a half at the developer conference. WWDC. On her opening Keynote namely Apple presents its new software every year, led by iOS and macOS. In addition to these, we could also expect the unveiling of a new Mac this year. Proon which Apple according to his own words, he has been working intensively for some Friday.
Until Apple comes up with a solution like Samsung DeX, then it will be a product that I will buy immediately. But I am afraid that Apple he will never do anything like that to keep his Mac sales from falling.
I would also like it and unification of programs for macOS and iOS would be helpful. However, I don't think DeX would be used much in its current form. I rather expect DeX to fizzle out just like the similar solution from MS that came before DeX. However, if anyone could get it going, it's Apple and his community.
Apple has stated several times that he is not planning anything similar. He wants to connect the systems through the ecosystem through the same API, but the bottom will always be different.
In addition, the DEX function works in a similar mode on ipad pro. via USB C, connect the dock from it to the monitor, keyboard and other things, so you don't have to worry about the mouse and you're good to go. It's complicated to use with a disc, but it works.
It remains to be seen what it will work on. I wouldn't be surprised if it's limited to the latest iPad models (Pro). This has happened here many times before.
I think it will be via Wifi and there is not much reason to limit it other than via iOS. That it will only work with the new iOS
This Mac desktop extension feature works great through the DUET app. Ideal for freelancerov, which e.g. I travel a lot and do my jobs from hotels, or directly from the buffet on the beach.. Tried ;)
The duet is terribly slow for me, I don't like the lags it has :(
The system's native protocol will always be faster, but Duet is not bad.
