Last month, you could read on our website that due to a software lock, it will not be possible to repair new Macs with the T2 chip outside of authorized service centers. This “improvement” triggered an avalanche of discussions that are currently ongoing. Applu and his actions are generally critical. However, the criticism falls on the head Applu in this case is rather wrong. ProC?

First, let's briefly explain what software locks actually mean in new Macs. After any internal intervention in your Mac, a configuration software tool will need to be run, which is only available to authorized service centers and stores. Applu. If this step is not completed, the device will be put into a non-functional state and will not be able to operate further. The T2 chip can be found in new devices (MacBooku Air (2018), Mac mini and iMac Pro) and it is necessary to realize that it is primarily a kind of security guarantor. It is thanks to it that the boundaries of our security are once again being pushed forward and maxIt perfectly complements the reliability of macOS. Many people don't even realize that by installing any unauthorized hardware, they are very easily exposing themselves to certain dangers. This is exactly the "problem" that the T2 chip perfectly solves, which simply does not allow these steps. At the same time, it ensures that the customer always gets 100% a functional spare part, which therefore will not limit him in any way in using his Mac.
The T2 security chip will also be found in the new Mac mini:
Privacy and security first
Pro Apple it is very essential to provide its consumers with maximal level of security. Its macOS and Windows operating systems are clear proof of this. iOS, which have never faced such a level of attacks as their competitors. As I mentioned above, everything fits together perfectly and the apple company simply values our privacy and security. And it is the T2 chip that will take our digital security to a higher level again.
Some users of discussion forums also talk about the possibility that Apple he just wants to get rid of third-party services that are depriving him of profit. However, if we think about it carefully, we realize that even this statement is quite strange. ProWhy would a company, whose value was not long ago more than a trillion dollars, deal with independent repair shops? Especially since it doesn't even protect itself against third-party repairs for iPhones, which it sells incomparably more than Macs? Let's answer that ourselves.

In conclusion, if you want a freely configurable device that you can repair at any time and completely independently, the new Macs are probably not for you. On the contrary, if you are looking for a machine that works perfectly and has the best possible security, in products from AppYou will definitely find the real deal.
T2 is the best invention of Tim cookand, basically, it's a perfect little whore hidden behind a marketing ploy.
Exactly. Just stupid marketing, how to add a computer, like a phone. Unrepairable, non-upgradable machine.
There is nothing better than making an advantage out of a brutal limitation of what the owner will do with the HW for which he spent a lot of money. That really takes talent.
Quite a laughable rationale. A billion disadvantages for consumers, no advantage (the fiduciary assurance of an original part is not really a guarantee of the reliability of a repaired device) and the impossibility of dealing with your property. Hmm, new strategy.
And what's wrong with a manufacturer wanting to guarantee the quality of its devices and provide complete service itself? Who doesn't like that, let's get a Dell 😎
Jj Agree, you know it in advance, if it bothers you, don't buy it.
It can guarantee quality with, for example, a ten-year warranty and without T2. After a few years, they will declare it obsolete, and even with what you repair yourself today, you will be out of luck with the T2 and buy a new machine.
Well, the effort to monopolize the service is more likely. It is the customer's supreme right to decide where to have the device repaired. And crap, that's all Apple is able to guarantee a quality repair are laughable. Apple that is, he does not repair, he only changes parts or the whole device. But when he jumps at people, why not? And everyone spends all their money where they want. ;)
With the T2 chip you only have to apple service, and how there are many cases where it was enough to fix a cold junction on the board, a 5-minute repair, for $5, instead of giving you apple the service said that it is for replacing the board, etc. for 1500 USD, it simply won't work, because similar repairs, when something is repaired on the board, not a cold connection, but a different chip, it will report to you as an unrepaired service intervention. They'll cut you short like a moron :)
It is also, not least, about the company's prestige, if some smart guy gets his device drilled by some "expert" from the shop at the station and something goes wrong, he will show videos of a semi-functional (non-functional) product on YouTube, with a repair in an unauthorized service of course, they won't brag and the company will suffer enormous damage, God forbid someone's battery from some AliExpress would explode, the media would laugh at that - they'll just write that it exploded Apple and that's it... I'm not surprised that they approach repairs this way, but most people can't imagine this.
Which happens anyway, so this argument about authorized vs. an unauthorized service is rather laughable. :-)
Btw. I wouldn't judge what "most people can figure out" or can't.
Just convince each other how cool it is, in a few years ID will be linked to T2 and without apple you can't even put it in the bazaar anymore :-))
Every sheep appreciates being locked up in a jail.
@Já And maybe that's why the T2 chip, so that everyone can't mess with it :)
I understand, but I see it completely the opposite way. T2 is fine, but if I'm "hacking" into the computer myself, it simply shouldn't limit my use. Let them report it. Applu serial number, which has changed HW, whether it has Apple an easy position when rejecting a claim or solving another problem. But it simply must not cause the device to malfunction. It's as if you agreed in advance that if you change the iP's battery yourself (of course with full awareness of the risk, etc.), that the iP won't work for you just because you reached into it. It just can't be like this.
Will this also apply to memories? These were always user-accessible and replaceable on both the iMac and the mini.
@Já So please read the manual carefully – specifically to Airbelow, you agree to this when purchasing the product, whether you like it or not, if you don't agree, you can look elsewhere, but this is probably written on all electronic appliances. ProYou shouldn't mess around with it yourself, whether you like it or not, it's against the manual :)

the manual is not a contract
If you get trolled for it Apple it pays, I understand. But if you're doing it for free and you're still buying the overpriced cut-and-dried stuff, I feel sorry for you.
I, on the other hand, feel sorry for people who go to read articles and discuss products that either have no value or meaning for them, they don't want them or they simply can't afford them :).
That's right, I can't afford to spend money on a polished fart in the form of a dual-core laptop. I'd rather buy an Acer for 15, it has a quad core where the web browser doesn't crash, an ssd slot and a frame slot. I'm sorry that it irritates you so much, but alas, it's the truth. Apple decided to sell pre-priced lowends himself.
I'm probably going to disappoint you a lot, but this is not a site about Acer products :)
Xxx, buy it and don't rush here.
Oh, sorry for ruining your joy of being a sheep in jail and still paying for it. I won't tell you the terrible truth ever again.
@Xxx Thank you very much, I wish you a lot of satisfaction with your new Acer :)
Thanks, it's about 2x more powerful than anything from Applu up to 60 thousand and windows are functional working tools, unlike MacOS, so I will definitely be satisfied. When you change the motherboard or keyboard and pay 15 thousand for it, you can remember me.
It's unbelievable how much care some of the debaters have.
Xxx you are on the wrong forum. You have to find a forum - Notebooks for tails.
There you can pat yourself on the back like you're an expert. You won't sell anything from Acer here, even if you try to force it as much as possible.
Laptops for tails are really the dual-core ones for 40. But I understand that it was hard to admit that you bought outdated stuff.
@ George: you are too blinded by apple reflections, btw. First, study something about concluding contracts at a distance and in foreign languages, and then be wise. May it be new Air whatever he wants, he has an electronic lock in his room and that's why nestI'm sorry for the broken glass. It's only "good" for incompetent people who can't find the power button.
And why are you so excited about it if it's not for you? 😜
He's probably a sadist and your crying turns him on.
Surely that's why IBM, facebook, half of Google and most IT companies have Macs. You must be just an envious incompetent idiot.
Yeah, but American movies don't have much in common with reality. IBM can hardly make a living from browsing. facebooku.
It's impressive how many engineers and technical advisors and experts always appear in these articles :D
I am working on iMac Pro and there was never any problem even with HW connection, SW installation, everything sleeps like clockwork. I even have 2 external Nvidia (Quadro, 1080ti) cards connected for complex calculations due to the CUDA cores. If something happens to go wrong, I take it to an authorized service center, they will fix it with experts and equipment. I don't feel like a sheep, and I'm glad that my computer will be repaired properly and professionally. And everything can be changed and upgraded, believe me :)
You play crap ;)
