When I'm with macOS and actually with MacBookI started, I was from Windows I was used to having to do everything through third-party apps. So I downloaded various apps to my Mac, and even bought some of them. But gradually I started to discover the charm of native apps. appek from the apple company, until I gradually abandoned all others and started using the native ones. The Preview application will save you a lot of work, which is kind of a no-brainer. Thanks to the native Preview application, you can quickly and easily convert photos and images to other formats (and of course not only that).

I think not everyone knows that the Preview app from Applu is a really powerful application. It's really remarkable that Preview can convert photos to 18 different formats - from GIF to JPEG to TIFF. So let's take a look at how to do it.

How to convert photos in macOS Mojave to other formats

First, of course, we need to find the photos that we want to convert to another format. I'll point out right at the beginning that all the photos must be in the same format with the same ending. If each photo will have a different ending, then you Preview for mass editing won't let go. We mark it and open it all photos (if a dialog box pops up asking if we really want to open all the files, press the button Open). After opening all photos we mark – either using a keyboard shortcut Command + A or click on in the top bar Edit -> Select All. Once all the photos are marked, click on the button in the top bar File and select an option from the menu Export selected images. A new window will appear, in which we click on the button at the bottom Elections. Now it's enough from the drop-down menu Format choose how we want to save the resulting images. When clicked, it will be displayed 7 basic formats, but if you hold down the key Option and you click on the drop-down menu, it will appear 11 formats more, including more advanced ones. You can even choose some formats other various settings. For JPEG it is, for example, photo quality, and for PDF Quartz it is a filter or encryption. After selection, we just choose where we want the final files impose and click on Choose.

Personally, I've been using this option for a very long time and I can't imagine it not existing in macOS. It doesn't matter if I'm just editing images for another tutorial or if I'm uploading images to the web. Thanks to this tool, I can easily change the image format and even their size. If you're using a third-party app, I definitely recommend you consider switching to the native Preview app, which is really cool and easy to use.
