It is no secret that the vast majority of products from AppThe company is producing in Asia, which brings huge financial savings to the apple company, given the quantity it requires from its suppliers. This contract is also very lucrative for the suppliers, and winning it will ensure the existence of some of them without the need to look for another company to cooperate with. Unfortunately, in Asian factories, the conditions for employment are notancIt's not rosy at all, as proven by a recent case from China.

28 high school students worked illegally on the production line for the production Apple Watch. The situation was first noticed by Hong Kong human rights group Sacom, which claims the students were illegally employed by Quanta Computer. According to the information so far, the students were supposed to work overtime and even at night, which is illegal in China. All students here were supposed to work under the auspices of internships, which every single student had to participate in in order to complete the year.

Sacom, a human rights group, interviewed all 28 affected students, all of whom confirmed that they had to participate in the production of Apple Watches as part of their internships. 11 students even said that if they had not participated in the internships, their teachers would not have been able to finish the year. However, the students interviewed nestThey only worked overtime and at night. Most of them also complained about the repetitive work, which they had to do thousands of times a day. One student also stated that another 120 students worked directly for Quanta Computers, most likely also illegally.

Company Apple of course, it did not leave this situation alone and launched an investigation, the results of which will result in sanctions for the supply chain. Apple takes great care of its suppliers and strictly checks that each of them complies with the labor laws of their country. Unfortunately, even his supervision does not prevent similar problems from time to time. Almost a year ago, it was discovered that one of the largest iPhone manufacturers, Foxconn, employs students, also as interns. As in this case, students were forced to do illegal work in order to finish their grade in schools.

Company Apple annually publishes details of whether its suppliers are complying with working conditions. This year, 44 gross violations of the rules appeared in the details. So let's hope this year that number will be smaller.
