Microsoft Since July this year, it has been reminding users of the Skype communication program to update to the latest version, i.e. Skype 8.0, as soon as possible. Microsoft However, it has now decided to stop just pointing fingers and is literally forcing users to update from Skype Classic (7.0) to the latest version. Of course, most users don't like this, as the new version of Skype doesn't bring any benefits other than a more modern look.

Skype enjoyed its greatest fame a few years ago, but I bet that even now there are still supporters and active users among you. The impetus for a forced update has been Microsoftyou may know it from the operating system, for example Windows, when updates can be launched practically at any time and it doesn't matter if you have a school project or are watching a movie. Windows simply updates itself when it tells itself to. In the case of Skype, at least we have a specific date when the old version will stop working - it's November 1, 2018.

This is what Skype 8.0 looks like:

As I wrote in the introduction, the new Skype is in its own way a big disappointment. I have to admit that the new design is really better and more modern. However, the inability to work with multiple windows, multiple accounts or the inability to customize sound notifications is a very unpleasant mistake on the part of Microsoftu. So there are only two options - either try this "update - no update" or look around for a competing communication program, of which there are a lot available on the Internet these days.
