When I got the chance to review the Xiaomi scooter, I was excited and knew it would be a hit. I have never tried any electric scooter before. nestI was so excited and full of expectations. Since I don't drive and don't own a motorbike, I really liked the idea of some kind of "means of transport". The Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter, as the scooter is officially called, is delivered almost assembled in a box, which contains, in addition to the scooter, a manual, two spare tires, an adapter, a spare charging cableonea screwdriver and four screws to tighten the handlebars. This will be the only thing you will need to do to get the scooter up and running.

After the first switch-on, I found that the scooter was partially charged. I didn't hesitate for a minute and immediately headed to the bike path to enjoy my first ride. To activate the electric motor, you need to set the scooter in motion. So I pedaled twice and released the gas, which is added by pressing the lever on the right side of the handlebars. I didn't think the machine would have such a punch and speed. The manufacturer states maxmaximum speed of 25 km/h and a range of up to 30 kilometers on a single charge, which are really very decent numbers. Although the values maxThe maximum speeds don't look great on paper, believe me, you will overtake many a cyclist on the cycle path. Riding on the cycle path is really smooth and completely problem-free. So I spent the weekend riding on the cycle paths. Since Xiaomi is a Chinese manufacturer, I really didn't expect a range of 30 kilometers for my 90 kilos, because my weight is really higher than that of the average Asian. Even so, I was able to ride a very pleasant 24 kilometers. Charging the scooter while riding is absolutely sensational. As soon as you ride downhill and don't "step" on the gas, the scooter is recharged by friction. If the battery runs out completely, there's no need to despair, just pedal a few times and you can ride a little further.
The scooter can be paired with the Mi app HomeApplication to iOS works completely smoothly, on a competing platform, communication between smartphones isoneis a pretty big disaster with a scooter, as evidenced by the very contradictory reviews in Google Play. The application itself is quite clear. In addition to basic information, such as the serial number, it offers data on the current speed, average speed, total mileage, current battery status, and even the current temperature of the machine. You can then lock the scooter by simply swiping left in the main menu.
Mi app environmentHome:
At first glance, the scooter seems quite solid, so I decided to take it to the dorms in Olomouc, ride it to school and put it to a really tough test, as far as the surface is concerned. After all, the scooter is designed for the city. There were absolutely no problems with the ride. Concrete, gravel, tiles or paving stones are no problem. Sometimes you will be forced to brake, the scooter does not have suspension wheels, which is a pity on the one hand. However, after a few kilometers, you will learn to absorb possible shocks with your body movements.
The scooter is mainly made of metal, but it still weighs a relatively pleasant 12,5 kilos. There is a switch in the middle of the handlebars that you can use to start the machine. If it is on, pressing it again will turn on the front light, which I must praise, because it shines really well and illuminates the road even in complete darkness. The rubber grips are also very pleasant, and thanks to the pattern your hand simply won't slip off. On the left half of the handlebars there is aoneThe brake is just right. At first, the presence of the brake on the left side made me think that I would be braking with the front wheel. But after the first skid and the squeak of the rear tire, it quickly passed. On the right side, there is the aforementioned accelerator lever, which, to my surprise, is made of plastic. If you ride "full throttle" and hit a bump, I would be afraid of damage over time. In my opinion, metal would be a much better choice in this case. I tested the scooter for about a week and I have to say that the handlebars are its biggest weakness. Even if all the screws are tightened, the handlebars have some play in the joint, which makes them move. It's not a bad thing, but if you're not riding and just guiding the scooter next to you, you feel that it's not quite right.
The scooter's tires are wide enough and you really don't need to worry about slipping even when taking a sharp turn. What I would be worried about, on the other hand, is the durability of the fenders, which are made of plastic, just like the accelerator lever. I don't see a single reason why the manufacturer didn't use metal here either. There's nothing to criticize about the main board. It's wide enough, so you can ride facing forward with your feet together. The board is also long enough, so I managed to fit my little sister in front, so such a careful ride in two is not a problem. The anti-slip pattern on the board also plays a role in this, so even wet shoes are not a problem. The manufacturer declares IP54 certification, so there's no need to worry about riding in light rain, which I didn't try, because not a single drop fell during my testing. Under the board on the front side there is aonewhich takes about 5 hours to charge.
The scooter also has a fixed stand and a rear light. Assembling the scooter is really a simple matter that will take you a few seconds. Just loosen the hinge on the joint in the lower part of the handlebars, fold down and attach the lever near the bell to the protrusion located on the rear fender. The scooter becomes easily portable luggage in an instant.
I would recommend the scooter to anyone who has a job, or school a few kilometers from home, he does not like to travel by crowded public transport or walk. The ride is truly a thrill and I don't think you can ever get tired of it. Since this is relatively rare, at least in the locality where I tested the machine, you have to overcome the surprising looks of everyone you pass. More than once it happens that even strangers will ask you what you actually drive it on and how it is possible that it drives itself. It should also be taken into account that some dogs absolutely cannot stand the sound of the electric motor and will not hesitate to slowly jump under your wheels in a fit of rage. The price of this infernal machine is at site mp.cz 10 crowns. However, in the period from 20.10. to 27.10. it is for our readers, thanks to the cooperation with Mobil Pohotovost800 CZK discount, i.e. 10. The discount applies only to the first 190 pieces and when entering the code "scooter" to the order. In the aforementioned period, it is also possible to buy the machine in installments without an increase. The customer will also receive a free phone holderSo you won't have to reach into your pocket to check the current battery status while driving with the Mi app open. Home will your smartphoneone to act as a tachometr.
I have half a year and two at home. The scooters are great, but they need a little fine-tuning.
1. A 3D printed "insert" will solve the issue of handlebar play and creaking. A question of a few crowns and the problem is over. 👍
2. The taillight cable is coming through under the rear fender. This is also solved by a small component from a 3D printer. Just google it. 👍
Otherwise, the range, endurance and everything around is really real and without problems. 👍
The play can be eliminated by adjustment and no washer is needed, and it never took me. It's the brake lever that kicks in - just spray it.
Another common problem that appears is the crunching sound of the rear bearing. The problem is not so much the bearing as poor-quality mounting when there is a larger hole in the wheel and the bearing does not hold pressed into the hub.
The range definitely does not fit. Of the stated 30 km, 20-25 are realistic, depending on the terrain. I also don't find recovery very effective. In addition, either it brakes a lot, so you have to use the gas more than idling when going off a hill, or, at the second setting, it is too weak. In the first case, it is a great braking accessory.
There is also the possibility to pull up to 32 km/h from the scooter, but this eats up the battery incredibly and it is quite difficult to handle.
When opening the store, it cost me 5, and for that money, it's great even for the 11 :)
I already have over 1000km on one and the pad is needed. That screw keeps coming loose. 👍 Even replacing the screw and nuts with high-quality steel and the good old Czech "pencil" helped. 😂
A range of 30km is perfectly fine on the flat – even without Eco mode. But max 80kg load. Then it starts decreasing. Also, every hill consumes a lot of energy.
Recovery is really useless. At a higher setting, it brakes at intervals and it's annoying.
But so far I haven't punctured even once, which considering other owners, is probably a miracle. 😳 And I also drive on dirt roads. 🤗 But it's probably about luck. I have it inflated to 3 atm. It's a bit harder driving, but so far without a flat.
Dobrý den.
I have a problem with handlebars creaking and I don't know how to solve it. I know that I should tighten the screw that holds the handlebars, but it has a 3-edged bit. Does anyone know of an alternative way to tighten these handlebars even if I don't have a 3-edged bit?
Letem svetem Applem There are also other tires for the bike, but I haven't found out why they are good.
Would they be replacements??
Because a lot of people just wore out their tires because they let the wheel slip when starting off. There were also complaints about frequent punctures, even from a stone. I haven't had anything like that yet. nesthello.
Nice review, I have it too and I am completely satisfied. Just the friction charging sounds like a tail rubbing against an ebonite rod. This is a recovery that is seriously perfect.
Good evening. I wanted to ask if anyone has experience with servicing scooters, if it's just according to YouTube instructions, or if Xiaomi stores in CR take these scooters for possible servicing. Thank you all for the helpful responses.
I asked in the store, but I have it under warranty bought from us and that is not a problem.
I ordered it, so I'm curious :-D I personally think it's a very nicely done thing...Idelani moved to the city.
I've driven over 700km, I'm switching to tubeless tires, I'm tired of constantly changing inner tubes, because gluing isn't the best solution. The worst accident was the screw that allows the handlebars to fold down, luckily it happened at a pedestrian crossing, if it happens while driving full on the road it's a disaster, the handlebars are in your hand and the bottom with the wheels is somewhere else, it only remained on the wires and it slaps you because by then you are already lying on the ground. As they write here before, Do it yourself. Otherwise, satisfaction.
For the sake of objectivity, it would be nice if the editors admitted that they get a commission from sales. Then the reader will understand that the editorial is not necessarily objective (which it is not).
a person does not have to be a genius to get it even without the editors drawing attention to it. The editors are not obliged to inform the person that they have a commission from it, I repeat - a person with an IQ of 70 and maybe even a slightly bigger dog will realize that the editors have a commission from it, I personally don't care. Instead of being happy that there is a bad name, you just have stupid bullshit...WOW!
Hello, Mr. Manager. Even though I don't know you at all, I can't help but agree with you, as a business entity as well.
Hang in there and good luck.
So be careful, I also have it and it has driven more than 1500 km, I use it almost all the time. There is no better means of transport on a Friday for a beer :-)
But for the problems, the handlebars and insert, is there any source of production in the Czech Republic, I will buy it now.
Wheels are tubeless or tubeless. Attention, if you use tubeless, I recommend drilling holes around the perimeter, it will soften the scooter. If you don't do this, you risk that the contacts on the battery will be torn off, and that's a bigger problem. There is practically no service. Everything is DODO, if you have more than 90 kg, then the range is about 15 km, at 25% of the battery, the power will weaken and the ride will be slower.
There is recuperation, but rather for a smaller extension of the range. Changing tires is an experience. Otherwise very stable and well made. With Android phoneonewith modifications see google, they do wonders with it in terms of speed. I read that the motor has 1000W, intentionally reduced to 250W
You can buy a mat on China store or you can have it printed on a 3D printer by someone.
The motor has up to 1000W, but... the battery goes to waste and excessive overheating occurs. You can normally use the 800W setting without risk.
Can I ask for a link to that mat? Thank you in advance.
I recommend this set, bigger sizes will come in handy in time.. :)

Hello, here you also have a choice: https://nopedals.cz/produkt/tlumic-vibraci-do-ohyboveho-mechanismu/
You also have other things for tuning there :-D
Does anyone have experience with scooter servicing in the Czech Republic? I've already done the classic scooter ailments - changing the wheels - switching to tubeless. The rear mudguard has been changed several times, as the plastic is not strong enough to carry the scooter every day. All this can be done at home, but unfortunately the battery died after about 700 km, I probably won't be able to replace it myself at home, and Banggod only provides a 6-month warranty on the battery, which is a long time since I bought it.
Thank you very much for the advice.
You can try it in Mi store shop or you can order the battery, for example, on Ali. That's exactly why I preferred to buy it from us.
Of course, friction does not recharge the scooter... Why does the author use assumptions, is he too lazy to find out how it really works?
And how old are you that you ride like a five-year-old child on a scooter? Are you retarded or retarded? Some bitch, when she comes out of the shit on her head, you'll definitely be the first :-D People are just stupid consumer cattle!
Everyone is like a photocopier :-(
I disagree, not everyone talks as much as you do. There are really few of them, so not all of them are through the copier.
The name alone says it all.
If you have nothing to say on the topic, go vomit your wisdom elsewhere...
Hello,
I tested several Chinese models that are faithful copies of Xiaomi. They copied it faithfully for a hundred issues. That stem mount will never hold tight, you can tighten as much as you want, it will still wobble. In addition, probably thanks to this, the plastic linings of the head assembly tend to crack. Fenders are completely useless. 3 pieces simply fell off after a week. Some screws have to be tightened all the time, otherwise you will lose them. You really need glue, a spring... Otherwise, I can't blame it much, but because of these defects, I wouldn't buy it.
Hello, what experience do you have with gasless tires...I heard that they reduce your range and speed and that they are hard to ride and destroy the scooter, I have had enough of those punctures and the program costs money, so they are thinking of giving you gasless ones, thanks
Hi, I'm also interested in this, I'd like to avoid defects in the future, there are a lot of videos on yt, some praise, some criticize... I'm mainly concerned with mileage and wear of the material. Hopefully someone will answer us
Tubeless tires really reduce range and comfort. Although the comfort is relative. If you want to ride with an inner tube without a flat tire, you have to blow at about 3 atm, and because of that, it's not very comfortable either. The problems with defects are not due to puncture of the inner tube, but due to its getting used to when hitting a bump at a higher speed.
Hello, I have tubeless wheels and so far they are super soft and hold well on asphalt and off-road. Otherwise, it doesn't seem to me that they reduce speed and range, on the contrary, they go even faster on smooth asphalt. I would definitely recommend buying them
Hello, today I went for a ride and after a little while the handlebars started to creak, or I don't know if it came from the handlebars or from the bar that the handlebars are on. I would be very happy for an answer, thank you
What if you read first and then write? Very first post!
