The latest mobile operating system from Applu iOS 12 contains a fairly significant number of new improvements, features, and functions. Some of them are truly welcome improvements, but there are certainly some features that you might prefer to do without. What's new in iOS 12 could be the less pleasant ones and how to deal with them?

Grouping notifications by application
One of the first things you iOS 12 noticed was the grouping of notifications based on context and threads. This means, among other things, that if you don't pay attention to your iPhone for a while, you'll be in for a "nice" surprise in the form of a lock screen full of noneextremely long and, above all, intertwined threads of notifications from Messengeru, Facebookat, or perhaps WhatsAppin which it is very difficult to understand. iOS Fortunately, 12 offers a setting for grouping notifications by application. How do I do that?
- Launch Settings.
- Tap Notifications.
- Select an app, scroll to the notification options.
- Select Group -> By Application.
Deactivation of notification grouping
If grouping notifications simply does not suit you, we have one bad and one good news for you. The bad thing is that it is not possible to deactivate the grouping of notifications en masse, but you can do so for individual applications.
- Launch Settings
- Go to Notifications where you set the grouping options to Off for each app.
Turning off Suggestions Siri
Automation Siri is a huge and ubiquitous part of iOS 12. It brings a huge advantage, for example, in the form of the Shortcuts application, but it is not always appropriate for suggestions to be Siri They also appear on the lock screen. Spotlight suggestions can be just as annoying. But both features can be easily turned off.
- Launch Settings.
- Go to Siri and search.
- Slide the button next to Suggestions on the lock screen to the off position.
Deactivating screen time messages
Another new feature iOS 12 is called Screen Time. Its job is familiar to us all – it tracks your activity on a given device and gives you a summary report of your “performance” at the end of each week. However, if you’re not interested in (or would rather not know) how much you’re using your iPhone, you can disable these reports. You can turn off Screen Time entirely in:
- Launch Settings
- Go to Screen Time
- Select Turn off screen time.
If you don't mind the screen time measurement and just want to disable the weekly summaries, wait for the app's next notifications, swipe to the left and tap Manage -> Disable.
Automatic removal of deleted voice memos
Change into iOS 12 also saw the arrival of the native Voice Memos app. If you delete any of your recorded voice recordings from here, similar to the Photos app, they will not be completely deleted, but will be temporarily moved to the Recently Deleted folder, from where you can delete them manually. By default, deleted recordings will stay in this folder for 30 days, but you can change this period to:
- Launch Settings
- Go to Voice Recorder
- Select Remove Deleted.
Share photos using a link to iCloud
Smart sharing feature in iOS 12 is quite … smart. But to use this feature, both parties must be users Apple product and the only reliable way to share photos is through the News app. In iOS But there's one inconspicuous feature hidden in 12 that lets you share any photo with anyone - instantly.
- Select the photo you want to share.
- Tap the share button as you normally would and select "Copy link to iCloud".
- After clicking the button, the link is copied to your clipboard, from where you can paste it anywhere – email, messenger or news.
Use of third-party password managers
Keychain on iCloudyou are in iOS 12 is tightly integrated with every page and every place where you need to enter your login information. This is a great improvement for those who actually use Keychain, but if you are used to another password manager, it may be a bit of a hassle. The truth is, in iOS 12 you can only have one password manager installed. If you have one installed on your iPhone for example, you install the 1Pass applicationword and you follow the publisher's instructions, this application will become the default password manager for your iOS device.
Turn off USB restriction mode
Part of iOS 12 also has a security measure called USB Restricted mode. When this measure is activated, your iPhone will not connect to a USB device if more than an hour has passed since the device was last unlocked. However, this feature, which can be annoying in some cases, can be turned off. Just:
- Open Settings
- Go to Touch ID/Face ID and code lock
- You scroll to the item USB accessories and move the button to the "On" position.
Cancel password suggestions
A strong password is a great thing. Even iOS 12, so when you create a new account, it also suggests creating and automatically saving an extra strong password. But if you want to use these quality password suggestions nestOh my, there's nothing easier than simply disabling them. How?
- Launch Settings
- Go to Password and accounts
- To disable suggestions, switch the button next to "Password autofill" to the "off" position.

I also have it much faster than I had before...and I have it iphone 7 128GB...I hope it's fine-tuned like this ios it will be Tim Cook keep doing it because it sucks :/
you don't even have the old X..?
try settings – general – reset – reset keyboard dictionary
at least it helped my girlfriend on 6S too :).
Do it as Majo advises you, and if it doesn't help, try a clean installation ios 12 again and do the restoration only afterwards
Does anyone know how to turn off automatic saving of photos to the gallery when you send them in imessage? It's very annoying....
They certainly considered it in cupertino and found that autosave is a better solution. You have to adapt, that's the price of living in a fenced paradise. Or don't send dickpics.
How to turn off the notification on the lock screen that the Do Not Disturb mode is activated?
They certainly considered it in cupertino and found that a permanent warning is a better solution. You have to adapt, that's the price of living in a fenced paradise.
Thanks for the instructions
Especially the notification grouping is a mess in itself, on X and 7Plus it is turned off, but it still groups together, mainly imessage. Others like activity, calls were successfully turned off. The suggestion of support for recovery via mac did not help, so hopefully it will be fixed in the next version.
Hello,
Can you advise me how to set up email notifications again, maybe after installation iOS My notifications stopped working on 12th :(
The only thing I changed in them was turning off email grouping (and I had to turn it off in every email account I have set up)
My grouping doesn't work on my iPhone 7. Everything is turned on. Interestingly, on the watch 2, paired with this iphonem, but it works. Any tips on how to activate it? Of course I have the settings turned on. Thanks
