We've all heard it. We're out with friends, and even though we're having a good time, something can keep pulling us back to our smartphone screen. The Palm phone, which will soon be available to Verizon customers overseas, is designed for just such situations. The Palm runs Android 8.1, and the apps come from Google Play StoreBut it certainly can't be called a smartphone that is limited in any way - the Palm can basically do everything your "big" smartphone can do.one.
Getting rid of smartphones and spending less time on them is a growing trend. People are increasingly using specialized software that measures screen time or limits the amount of time they can use a particular app. But these tools can be easily circumvented. Getting a regular flip phone often won't solve this problem, because these days, some apps are simply necessary. Palm's creators want you to think of their device more like a smartwatch than a second phone. However, a second phoneonem simply is, and therefore this whole idea may seem strange to some, to say the least. But you can certainly imagine plenty of situations in which you would use this small, light, but handy phone.
See what Palm looks like in pictures from The Verge:
The Verge editors had the opportunity to try out the Palm. What did they learn from the test? According to them, the phone looks strikingly similar to the new iPhones – but according to its creators, that was not the intention. Gorilla Glass 3 ensures the durability of the front and back, and the phone has an IP68 rating. Its dimensions are only 50 x 97 millimeters, and its thickness is 7,4 millimeters. Due to the small dimensions, the Palm does not have a headphone jack and the phone does not support wireless charging. The LCD display diagonal is 3,3 inches, charging is done via USB-C port. The creators did not forget about the camera either - the rear has 12 megapixels and the front 8 megapixels. Inside the phone is a Snapdragon 435 processor, 3GB RAM and 32 GB of storage. You can see the unconventional graphic layout of the display in the gallery. After tapping the palm icon, you switch to the so-called Life Mode, which activates, among other things, Do Not Disturb mode and low battery consumption. In addition, Life Mode can also deactivate wireless connections - mobile and Wi-Fi connections are activated in this mode only when the phone's display is turned on. Palm will go on sale this November, the price is set at $ 349,99.
$350? It's not a night that a Chinese guy doesn't sell for two dollars on Aliexpress...🤔 It's just an expensive low-end Android.
I see Android is there, so I understand everything.
I don't see any point in this. Why buy another phone when I already have one? Palm should have made the screen a little bigger (4,3 inches) and sold it as a normal smartphone.oneI keep reading discussions where people are crying that no one offers a small phone, so I'm curious to see how many Palm would sell in this case.
It works on 2 SIM cards, haveonewho on headphones and have a reliable OS like iOS I'll buy it for $350.
