The tower-like assembly consists of GPS, several cameras and LIDAR devices, which are tasked with mapping the surroundings. It all works thanks to pulsed laser beams that are fired from the transmitter. The rays are subsequently reflected from objects, and thanks to the moving receiver, it manages to create a three-dimensional scene of the surroundings. Similar technology is also used, for example, in geodesy or archaeology.
