While in the previous two years we saw iPhones with IP67 resistance, this year's iPhone XS and XS Max boast higher dust and water resistance according to the IP68 standard. This guarantees owners of these devices that their phones can withstand a depth of two meters for 30 minutes without damage. However, if you were hoping that we would see another durability upgrade next year after this year's improvement, we will have to disappoint you.

A short while ago, renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo came up with further details about iPhonech for next year. According to his sources, these should receive the same resistance as this year's premium models - that is, resistance according to IP68. The phones will once again withstand a thirty-minute dive at a two-meter depth, or at least they should.

iPhone XS and XS Max boasts better water resistance than last year's and the year before last's models:

Far more interesting than Kuo's resilience report might be the attitude Appto complaints in case of water damage. At the moment, the apple company will not recognize such damage and therefore will not repair or replace the product. Let's hope that we will see changes in this regard at least and the failure of guaranteed water resistance will start to take place in future iPhones Apple as a claimable defect. Until then, it will be safer if you use your devices in water with special waterproof cases that prevent them from possible damage.
