Scandals involving the misuse of social media data are increasing. It all started Facebookem and now even the social network Google+. To protect your account as best as possible, most of these social networks offer the option of two-step verification. Two-step verification works on the basis that when you want to log in to your account, you must enter some additional information in addition to your password to prove that you really want to log in to your profile and not someone else. Instagram has offered two-step verification for some time, but doneIn the past, it was SMS-based verification. Now Instagram has added a new option for two-step verification, without the need to use SMS. We can now verify using an authenticator app - Google Authenticator is the most suitable for our needs. So how do we do it?

How to activate two-step verification on Instagram
As I wrote at the end of the first paragraph, first we need to download Google Authenticator - you can do this with this linkAfter downloading on our iOS device we will go to the application Instagram and we switch to our profile. Then open in the upper right menu menu (icon of three horizontal lines) and we choose the option that is located at the very bottom – Settings. In settings we'll go down below, until we come across a box Two-step verification, which we click on. Then a screen appears, which we confirm by pressing the button Get into it. Now we activate the switch for the option Authentication application. Another screen will appear, on which there is the text Get a code from Google Authenticator - at the bottom of the screen we click on the blue button Další. A warning will appear, which we confirm with the button Open. Acknowledging the notification will open the app Google Authenticator with further notice – Adding a token. We will confirm this warning with the button Year. Instagram will be added to the application. To copy the authentication code, it is enough hold your finger. Then we move back to the application Instagram and click the button Další. Now Instagram prompts us to entering the code – enough again hold your finger on the pre-made dashes and click on Insert. Then confirm the code with the button Další and it is done.
After you turn on two-step verification, you'll need a code from Google Authenticator before signing in for the first time on any other device. The good news is that the code usually only needs to be entered once - then Instagram remembers the device and trusts it. For example, after enabling two-step verification, I tried to log into my Instagram account on my Mac. After entering the password, I was asked for an authentication number that I copied from my iPhone from the Google Authenticator app. Only then did Instagram "let" me into my profile. You can see the entire process in the gallery below.
At the very end, I would like to draw your attention to one more thing. In the Google Authenticator app, you may notice a small circle next to the code that gradually disappears. This wheel serves as a kind of "countdown" in which you have to enter a specific code. Once the countdown ends, the code is updated. You must always enter a current code, if you enter an expired code, Instagram will not let you into your account.
Because Instagram belongs to the family Facebooka lot of users don't know how to use it and it's all the same duck face, so I canceled it. For those who really care about nice and high-quality photos, Yahoo's Flickr is #1 in this regard.
What it offers via SMS, it's simple and fast !!
