If you follow the events around the apple watch, you must have registered that it is new Apple Watch SeThe ries 4 have an ECG sensor for monitoring heart activity. However, its use must be approved by the relevant authorities and is therefore not yet active on any watches for ordinary users in the world. Apple on September keynote Although it said it would launch ECG support in the US very soon, it looks like the launch won't be that hot. Not even in the third betaoperating system version watchOS 5.1, which will be the first major update watchOS 5, there has been no application that would make ECG available. In view of this fact, it is very likely that in watchOS 5.1 ECG does not arrive on the watch.

EKG measurement through the watch is also for Apple big problem. He had no choice but to admit that this function was not yet 100% ready and although he should have miniAlthough Apple has already received all the necessary approvals in the US, it did not make it available to users in the first version of the watch system. The only thing Apple told us about the ECG in the new watch was that it would be available before the end of this year, from which many users concluded that we would see it in watchOS 5.1. Its final version will be released around the end of October or the first weeks of November, which would correspond to the end of the year. However, according to the beta, it looks like that will not be the case.
Apple Watch Series 4:
EKG on Apple Watch Series 4 can generally be described as one of the best improvements that they have made. Apple grandson. In combination with a narrower body and a noticeably larger display, they make this product a truly perfect assistant on your wrist. Hopefully, we too will see ECGs made available in our meadows and groves soon.
That another "AirPower"Gate? :D
Maybe they just don't have it approved yet, so they have to wait. Alternatively, those who are not approved cannot test it in beta versions… but I could be wrong.
or I'll just add it to the final version.. as it should with the fifth dial
I don't understand why there is so much hype about the EKG. For the casual user, it has no meaning, the data can only be evaluated with the help of your doctor (cardiologist of course) and of course it will only be auxiliary data. If you don't all have a doctorate in medicine, then you are looking forward mostly in vain.
I still don't understand why it needs to be approved?
However, it is only an informative measurement that does not bind anyone to anything.
I doubt it APPLE will guarantee something that a cardiologist must comment on, and that too only after an examination on a certified device, which must be calibrated and serviced at regular intervals (metrology of medical devices.
I don't remember that the heart rate sensor would have to be approved in such a complicated way?
Because it will be like a medical aid... and you are going through certification, etc... and that's why you need permission
Me, I'm curious about the informative value of such an EKG - for a correct EKG you need to have 6 probes on the chest, on both upper limbs and on the leg.... But if by some miracle they manage to avoid false positive / negative findings, then it's up for a Nobel Prize :-) By the way, I don't know how in Slovakia, but in the Czech Republic, not only a cardiologist, but also every general practitioner is able to evaluate an EKG...
You should go for a proper ECG or other medical examination several times - that's why up to 30 percent of all medical tests are wrong (e.g. if you train hard in the gym for an hour and a half the day before the "screening" blood test, the results will be completely different from the test when there you will come after a day off). So the outcome of the ECG on Apple Watch it is completely obvious (you can perform repeated tests) and there is no need for the 6 probes as with a professional device - not to mention the fact that the results of any medical test are interpreted differently by each doctor or specialist.
I think the EKG will come right after that. Siri will start speaking Czech. So we will definitely enjoy the wait!
