In the pilot part of the ESET Cyber Security Pro antivirus review, we showed how this program actually works, what it looks like, and what features it has. In today's second part, I would like to take a look at how to keep your Mac 100% safe and "clean" so that there are no viruses in it and in general so that you can sleep with a clear head that you will not lose any files due to a virus. The Internet is a big danger and sometimes it is enough to click somewhere wrong and out of nowhere working with your computer can turn into a nightmare. ESET sticks to the simple slogan "Enjoy the Internet, ESET will protect you." If you really work with the Internet every day, then just like with sexual intercourse, it is necessary to protect yourself on the Internet.

In today's episode, we'll show you how to run and set up computer scans on your Mac. We'll show you Smart Scan, Custom Scan, and of course, Deep Scan. We'll also show you how to use ESET Cyber Security Pro to schedule scans so you don't have to worry about anything and Mac proautomatically conducted the checks. There's no point in waiting, so let's get to it.
Smart control
Smart control is the type of control that you will probably use most often. Not for nothing does it bear the designation "Smart" in its name - it really is a smart type of control. Smart check works on such a principle that it stores a checksum - hash - for each checked file. ESET compiles a database of hashes during the Initial check (that's the name of the check that starts immediately after installation). the "cleanness" of the file is not distinguished here - defacto there are only clean files, because the others would already be quarantined. During Smart check, the hash database is then compared with the current hashes - if the hash is the same - the file is not checked, if it is different, it is checked.
Deep inspection
Remember the hash (checksum) from Smart Scan? This is exactly what the deep scan doesn't care about. If you decide to run a deep scan, be sure to count on it taking some time, as it has to re-check all the files on your computer. You'll probably use the deep scan mostly when you really feel that something is wrong with your Mac, or when you simply want toeventive, because "what if by chance". Of course, I don't want to question Smart control, quite the opposite.
Optional check
The optional scan is usually useful when you have multiple hard drives installed on your device and you want to scan only one of them. After clicking on the Optional scan option, several options will appear that you can set at your own discretion. First of all, of course, it is the type of scan you will perform - you can choose from three options - Smart scan, Deep scan and Scan from the context menu. Then you can set the scan targets, i.e. the locations and storages that the scan should focus on. Below you can then choose which drives you want to scanchat check. At the very bottom of the window there are then two options, where Scan without cleaning will only scan the files and if it finds a malicious file, it will only notify you about it, but will not delete it. The last, second option is Shut down the computer after the scan is complete – I probably don't need to explain what will happen here.
Checking removable media
"Hey Stan, here's my hard drive with the movie collection, like I told you, so be sure to take a look, haha" said Mirek. Staník thought that Mirek was a true friend and that he had nothing to fear, but after connecting the hard drive to the computer and then starting the movie, Staník was horrified. The screen went black, the mechanism began to slide out and the mouse does not respond to anything.
Okay, I may have gotten a little carried away in this case, but I'm sure you all know what I mean. The control of removable media is simply used to ensure that after connecting any external media, i.e. for example a flash drive or hard drive, you will be given the option to check it. You don't have to worry about ending up like Staník, who didn't have ESET Cyber Security Pro on his computer and let his friend cheat him. You can start the check of removable media either directly in the ESET Cyber Security Pro interface or using the notification that appears when you connect an external media to the computer. In this case, just press the Check button.
Scheduling an automatic scan
If you belong to the group of comfortable people, then you will definitely use the function of scheduling an automatic check. As the name suggests, here you can easily schedule all checks to be carried out in the future. ESET has some pre-prepared tasks, but if, for example, you want to add an automatic check during an event, you have this option using the scheduler. Simply click on Schedule a regular check. After that, you just set what, when, where and how you want according to your own preferences. ESET is ready to fulfill all your orders and commands unconditionally - and not even when it is, in a way, on the battlefield with viruses and you are its commander.
On the other hand, it is not absolutely necessary to plan these - in fact, every newly created, copied, edited or opened file is checked by Resident Protection, which would immediately detect and remove any active threat. By means of a back check, only some inactive piece of code can be revealed, which we may not have detected before, most often these are potentially unwanted applications
updates
It's not just Apple, who keeps telling you that updates are important. Just like operating system updates, ESET updates are also important. New and new threats are constantly emerging on the Internet, and it is necessary that even the ESET detection core remains updated. The detection engine is a program module and uses many more techniques than just comparing against a database. If a file is clean and does not match a record, it is marked as clean. Conversely, if a file matches a record in the database, it is marked as potentially malicious and moved to quarantine. ESET updates itself, even several times a day. However, do not think that ESET cannot find a threat that is not yet part of the detection engine. Thanks to heuristics, artificial intelligence and cloudThanks to the new ESET Live Grid reputation system, ESET is able to recognize even brand new threats.
záver
Performing checks in ESET Cyber Security Pro is absolutely simple. Using this antivirus is absolutely simple and intuitive, and I think that even if you belong to the older population, you will be able to handle it. And if not, there's nothing to worry about - you can use technical support, which is always willing to give you advice.
As I already wrote in the previous review, I do not have a single complaint about the ESET Cyber Security Pro antivirus solution. So if you are looking for an antivirus solution, I have no choice but to recommend ESET Cyber Security Pro. If you would like to become the owner of this great antivirus, prepare 1490,- for one year for one device, which is a really great price. In addition, if you are a student or teacher, you will get a 50% discount from ESET; The 30% discount then applies to existing ESET customers. And if you moved from Windows on Mac, so you can continue using the license from Windowsu – you don't need to buy a new one, just ESET na Windowsu uninstall and reactivate the license on the Mac.
I've been taking care of Macs (hundreds of them) for almost 20 years. And apart from the fact that the virus was installed by the user himself (various fake codecs from porn sites, or tools to speed up Macs, would-be antiviruses and so-called cracks), I've never seen a Mac infected in my life. On the contrary, over the years I've seen how various tools like Symantec, McAfree, or ESET, have managed to turn a stable system into a nesta clever piece of shit. I understand that this is a paid article and you are not at least professionals enough to label it as such, but if you like Macs even a little, think about what you are selling yourself for and how you are doing it...
