Lego is certainly not just a building block for children – with enough ingenuity and skill, you can build truly breathtaking structures from it. The recently completed model of the apple campus with its stunning circular main building certainly belongs among such magnificent works. How was the construction going?

Lego Apple Park je zmenšeninou 71-hektarového kampusu v kalifornském Santa Clara Valley. Součástí Lego stavby je již zmíněné sídlo společnosti, přezdívané „The Spaceship”, as well as the surrounding area, including other buildings. The proud builder is Spencer Rezkalla, who posted detailed photos of his work, which took two years to build, on the Flickr website.

Rezkalla's work measures a respectable 1,76 square meters and weighs 35 kilograms. Rezkalla is no beginner in this regard - in the past he has already built several miniatures of more or less well-known buildings from Lego. After tall buildings such as New York's Flatiron or Seattle's Space Needle, the perfect apple circle presented another interesting challenge for Rezkalla. "In 2014, I came across drone footage showing a huge circular excavation in California," said Rezkalla. "When I found out that this was the foundation of a new applespaceship' campus, I knew I had found an interesting and suitable candidate," he added.

To build the main building, Rezkalla used a mixture of black and transparent Lego bricks, using which he created a circular structure with a diameter of 0,8 meters. Although Rezkalla tried to imitate real construction methods, he admits that it is simply impossible to create a perfect circle from the Lego bricks he used. For most of the time Rezkalla built his model, it was realistic Apple Park under development. So the builder was inspired mainly by aerial shots, in which he noticed every detail. In addition to the main Rezkalla building, he also incorporated into his construction the historic Glendenning Barn, a farm building from 1916. During construction, he also paid attention to the building's surroundings, so he also played with the construction of hills and a huge amount of trees, as well as other details that you can see on photos in the gallery of this article.
