In recent days, we have been showing news from both mobile and iOS 12, from the new operating system for Macs – macOS 10.14 Mojave. Today will be no different, as in the guide we will once again focus on one new, great feature from Mojave. This is the new Gallery mode, which is located in Finderu. As the name "gallery" suggests, this mode will be especially useful for photos. So if you are a photographer or if you simply have a lot of photos that you want to work with in bulk, Gallery mode is for you. So let's see how in Finderu Activate Gallery mode, what you can do with it and how it can increase your efficiency when working with photos.

Gallery display mode in Finderu

Gallery mode in Finderu is activated simply. All you have to do is open a folder or any window Finderu, and in its top bar click on the fourth icon from the left in the group of icons where you switch display modes (see image below). The entire folder you are currently in will switch to Gallery view.

As I wrote above, this mode will be used mainly by people who need to quickly edit a lot of photos at once, but don't be fooled. Gallery mode is also great for previewing a PDF or DOC file, for example, but these types of files don't have as many editing options as photos.

So we'll stick with photos and images, which you can edit the most using the Gallery view mode. Once you activate Gallery mode, all you have to do is click on the image you want to edit. In the lower right corner of the window, there is the Rotate Left option, which allows you to quickly rotate incorrectly oriented images (similar to in iOS). Another option is the Annotate function, which when pressed brings up a simple interface for quick image editing - for example, adding various shapes, texts, etc. The third button More activates a menu that shows you additional options. For images, you will find the Create PDF option here, and if you use Automator, all the programs you have created in it will be located right here.

Metadata and photo info

I also find the function that displays metadata about the photo very interesting. If you or anyone else has taken a photo and you want to find out, for example, what ISO was used, what the photo was taken with, or if you want to find out any other information that is written into the photo, then with the help of the gallery mode you have that option. Simply click on the photo again, and then click on the blue text Show more in the right part of the window, which will show you all the available information and metadata about the photo.

This new feature is really great in my opinion, and since I work with photos a lot, I got used to it and use it every day.
