The analytics company collected data from 530 American customers. Of these, almost 50% answered that they plan to upgrade to a newer iPhone model in the near future. This is a much higher number than in the same survey last year, when only 25% answered this way. Of course, this does not mean that each of them will really buy a newer model, but the increasing demand of customers for new models can be seen.
The survey also focused on Android users, asking whether they plan to switch to iOS. Compared to last year's 12%, 19% of respondents answered positively this year. The last topic of the questionnaire was augmented reality, which Apple more and more interested. Of course, no conclusions can be drawn from this research. First of all, the sample of potential customers surveyed was quite small and their answers may not necessarily reflect whether they will buy the new iPhone model this year or not. All we can say is that there is indeed a higher interest than in 2017 and many users who have purchased iPhone 6, 6s or 7 are already seriously considering replacing it with a newer model this year.

Well, the question is how to correctly interpret this information. It could also mean that customers were not satisfied with last year's offer and thought that it would last somehow. This created a cumulative offer. And it is not at all certain that it will be realized this year on the predicted scale. Especially when it looks like the expected models will obviously not live up to the expectations of a lot of users (= Apple introduces something they don't want - like a small bloated phone).
I sold a 3 year old 6s for €300 and managed to buy a brand new one for €300.
