War between users iOS and Android have been raging practically since the moment these systems were created. Although there are those among their users who have words of praise and respect for the competing system, a huge number of people cannot name the competitor to their favorite system and absolutely refuse to understand how anyone can use it. However, there are defectors in both these camps who have been seduced by the qualities of the competition and now enjoy using them. But what was their reason for doing so?

This is exactly the question decided to be answered by the PCMag portal, which in its survey addressed 2500 smartphone users in the US, among whom 29% were defectors between systems. He asked them several interesting questions, from which he subsequently deduced the exact answer to the question of why people actually decide to switch to a competitor. And what is the biggest attraction of the competition for apple growers? Of course the price.
A big attraction for many Android users was the iPhone X:
Generally, it is a smartphoneoneIt is fair to say that Android devices are cheaper, even the best models. They often start at high prices, but their price decreases over time, and thanks to various discount promotions, they can be found for literally a pittance from time to time. But this is not the case with Applu we don't see that often. A full 29% of former Apple users surveyed said that they decided to switch precisely because of the price of the competition. 30% then answered that they were looking for a better user experience with Android, while only 6% of former Apple users switched to Android because of the larger number of applications.
As for the ex-androidists who headed for iOS, the biggest role for them was played by a much better user experience, which iOS indulges. It is because of him that 47% of all defectors switched to iPhones. A quarter of the defectors decided to switch because of the better design, camera and similar things that, in their opinion, are lacking in Android phones.
What about you? Does Android offer anything that would sway you to switch, or are you such a diehard fan? Applu, that nothing else but iPhone Can't you just carry it in your pocket?
"Then what about the exandroidists who targeted Android..." - a little correction will do the trick :)
I had a tablet from Apple,
I just forgot my login password… .
Even when I brought the original box to their store or for service. Nobody was having fun with me. Locked Apple no one will open or open, then you will only be left with a reminder of what not to go to.
I wanted to go ahead and get a mobile phone with a computer, but if I forget the password, these will be very expensive for me. Stick a whole apple behind your hat.
Experience with Apple it was enough for me, I happen to only have one very expensive board on the border... .
why didn't you restore the tablet? :-D :-D
Writer, in this case it's probably not an OS problem, but a problem with your intelligence :D If you meant the credentials Apple ID, unlike the competition, it is not tied to creating their account. Which means that you can use, for example, the login details that you have been using for years on your email. On the other hand, with Android, it happened to me that I forgot the Google account I created because I was forced to create it and then never logged in again because I didn't need it or want to. And as is often the case with these affordable phones, satisfaction decreased, so I changed my phone about every year, which led to me having to create a Google account again. However, in your case, I don't understand one thing. How did you lock it? :D If you only forgot the phone code, you can easily restore it in several ways. I also doubt that in Apple no one was messing with you in the service department. Such support as Apple no one has!! I'm sorry, but even my 12-year-old son can solve such a trivial "problem" by himself in a moment :) And for those who don't understand IT at all (they can't turn on the PC, connect the cable and even start iTunes with a double click of the mouse :D ) there are services where they will restore the code while you wait for 300-400,-
I moved from Galaxy s8 on iPhone 8. Quite satisfied, but ios it still does not have all the functions that Android has. For example, when someone calls, that's it iPhone it bothers me quite a bit if it's on the whole screen, but I guess it will come sometime iOs 13 :D Also touch ID It doesn't recognize the print quite often, that's what I thought Galaxy The s8 has a terrible sensor, but iPhone it's not much better, there are days when it goes great and sometimes it just doesn't work. The battery is pretty good, which I'm quite surprised because it's a lot smaller than the S8, but the display isn't as big and clear as the little S8, so that's probably why :D
When someone calls and you need a phoneoneto work, so press home button.
Thank you very much, I didn't think of that at all :D
Android 8 has significantly better notifications and direct replies to messages. And then working with files is also a breeze on the A8, with iOS is a slap in the face. The need to use iTunes is also a slap in the face. At the moment I am on iOS "only" because there is no size alternative on Android with sufficiently long SW support. As soon as Nokia, for example, makes something below 140 mm in height, I'm leaving.
What's the point of iTunes when it's all over? cloud? I only use iTunes when I'm switching from beta to the live version of the system.. max. even if some music is not on apple music (mostly Czech spoken word) and I need to finish playing it on iTunes Match
Apple Music should also allowCloud Music Library, i.e. plays music from your iCloudu :-) no need to connect to iTunes :-)
But itunes match doesn't play music until consumption icloudu.. only it is limited to about 100 songs
You use iTunes, so you're a good Tatar. You saw an apple on a tree like the one above you.
And how else can you put your own ringtone there?? Only through iTunes. With AOS, I plug it in with a cable or download it via Zedge and I'm going, at iOS it's much more complicated.
Otherwise, I am currently considering changing the system from AOS to iOS.
1. I don't have confidential files on any device. cloudwhat to do, but you obviously can't understand that
2. According to your instructions, I need to get them on the phone, it's the bestdrive upload from computer to cloudand then download from cloudon the phone. Well, in the 21st century, it's really a big step forward.
3. The built-in player cannot play music from address books and making playlists is also a really big "progress"
Etc. Etc.
You're slapping yourself. Take one, then.
Is it necessary to use ITunes? Since when? :O
Android is offered by Google in the Czech Republic Pay. Apple...
agree.. toonecne advisory argument.. I miss this and smartlock.. so that I don't have to unlock my phone in the car when I have it paired via Bluetooth with the radio
Well, you see, and this is again a laughable argument for them, such nonsense as payment through an intermediary is really "in"
I understand that someone takes a sickening pleasure in carrying a wallet or a card in their pockets everywhere... because it's better to have it with you and on your phone or in your watch... the only thing missing for full digitization is the ability to have a wallet and a wallet in digital, similarly in mobile, and at that moment there is no need for a wallet at all..
I switched to Iphone 7 Plus after about two years with the LG G4. Iphone It has a lot of advantages, but what surprised me was that stability (especially application crashes) is much more common on the iPhone. Another thing that really annoys me is that the phone has basically no multitasking (basically just a list of recently launched applications and music playback), so when I download something from the web, or videos from a GoPro camera, the given application has to be running, when downloading from the web you also need to watch the display so that it doesn't turn off - that would interrupt the download, I simply don't understand this on a phone for 25, while in terms of hardware, even an i5 and above could handle more applications running simultaneously...
It's for battery saving, not for performance.. so I don't see the application crashing.. maybe if you're downloading some secondary applications that haven't been updated for three years.. and as for the Go Pro, then download via the original card reader via import (on the tablet ) works absolutely without any problems and is very fast.. personally, I just used this on vacation and I can easily drag and drop photos from SD cards like this..
Well, why do things simply, when it's easy to "applause", simply "in the face"
Android - Android Auto in Czech, GPay and at all NFC, easier automation.
iPhone – stability, interconnectedness, unrivaled size for SEčka.
Yes, I use both :-)
I gave withancon android (samsung s9) i passed z iPhone 7 on samsung for 3 months,, took beautiful photos, but nothing more! I have never had a worse phone in my hand. Even the S7 edge it was smoother than the S9. I switched back to iPhone 8. Good old iPhone ✌️✌️✌️
Hello, you may have had the S9 in your hand, but you probably haven't used it for 3 months, see your comment "I haven't had a worse phone in my hand", so I'm asking: "how did you come to the conclusion that the S7 edge is better"? I use iPhone 8+ and Samsung S9+, which I upgraded to from S7 edge, S7 edge was unsuccessful (or certainly less successful than the S9 and I'm still standing!), the HW probably wasn't bad, but it wasn't for my hands, I repeatedly pressed the screen with the flat of my palm near my thumb (large curvature of the display), so unsuccessful, but the S8 and S9 series including the Plus don't do this. Compare S9 with S7 edge, no way, the S9 works better, the whole phone is better tuned. Personally, I think the S9 is much better than iPhone 8, but that's subjective. I could imagine it as an ideal phone Apple-Samsung iPhone Galaxy S10+, because both worlds have their advantages, but also their weaknesses! I don't even remember one or the other "stuck" and having to restart, and honestly, both companies make mistakes in updates, so they don't have much to blame. Today I'm 95% ready to leave iPhone, because I don't want to carry two phones anymore and the S9+ is dual! I need to make calls, access the internet, write text messages, read emails, navigate, unlock my house, take photos, pay via bank transfer app, otherwise a card in a mobile phone is a very useful thing if you go out into the streets and take insufficient cash and 99% allow me to have both and Samsung adds dual, that is a pretty strong argument for me after years of living with two phones. Otherwise, I really love and hate accessories on the iPhone, the design is great, but the prices are crazy, although Samsung has also leaned into it recently (prices of original accessories). Samsung S9+ surprised me after unpacking, charger, probably good headphones, but also two adapters! Apple on the other hand, maybe in the future they won't even include a charger in the package (I'm exaggerating on purpose). So iPhone 8+ I will probably soon move my son's place to my old one iPhone 5S and that's it. I even looked at the Huawei P20 Pro, but the price similar to the S9+ has put me off for now.
Wolf: who has time to write such phrases because of a stupid phone :DD
Xiaomi Pocophoneone F1
Do you know where to buy it in CR?
I was also worried about the touch, but iPhone The X doesn't even reach the Huawei P20 Pro's knees. On the contrary, it's surprising that iPhoneX, although the most expensive, is in seventh place in camera tests...
"As for the ex-androidists who have headed for iOS, the biggest role for them was played by a much better user experience, which iOS indulges.” – this describes the Americans exactly!!! They are stupid, so for them the android was quite “technical and complex”, that’s why they chose “a hackneyed iOS"!
The same way people used to praise Nokia for fool proof, they liked the simplicity - just a simple phone, for simple people :-D
I use both systems:
Android: the system itself, a lot of things can be changed as you need, no limits, it's like a "PC". The downside of Android is updates to new versions (security updates are always available, of course). So it's common to wait a YEAR for a new system and in the meantime the new version is already ready, if you're lucky, you get a system that's a year old :-D For example, you buy a phone, it has Android 7, but Android 8 is already out and a year later you get it, well, Android 9 is already out. There's also a problem with Android, which is why I switched to iPhone HW – the phone itself, not all phones perform as you would expect, even in the more expensive categories of 10K and up.
IPhone: unfortunately, I have to admit the whole phone, it's just plain obvious when someone tunes their OS for specific HW! Although it is iOS quite behind Android in some things, but with the advent of iOSIt's changed a lot in 11 years and Android is starting to catch up, it's just a matter of time before there are more gadgets that I, as a former Android user, miss... I'm so excited that Apple will release a new OS and everyone has it now, even all phones, even the "old" ones, it's just awesome!
At the moment I only have iPhone, I haven't given up on Android, I still like it, I support it and its Android project Onewhich is supposed to handle updates similarly to how it should Apple (only for some models).
If I ever go back to Android, it would probably be the only one Google Pixel.
Now I iOS I like it and would like to stay with him for some (indefinite) time.
ps: yes, and there is also u Apple one plus for the "ecosystem", although I don't use it, but I plan to get macOS as well, so far I've been using Linux at work on Windows, so I believe that macOS will not let me down :-)
Geórge:' the application must support background running and if it can, you must enable it in the settings unless the application itself asks you. Sometimes it is in the settings of the application itself, sometimes in the settings iOS to the given application. In any case, it iOS It can. By default, it is turned off due to the aforementioned durability.
Karel: Nonsense and disagreement.
I find Android somewhat simpler, sometimes more difficult to control. It depends on the GUI.
The fact that someone doesn't feel like digging around in the system and looking for little things to turn on and what they connect to is really not about stupidity.
I know people who are really different in terms of intelligence, but I just don't have the nerve or time for this, and they indicate it with the words:
How can someone sell such an unfinished shop, which is supposed to make a person's work easier and not to make money?
Not everyone has time to play with their phone.onem.
Unfortunately Apple he has largely abandoned this policy of an intelligent OS where there is no need for tinkerers. It is more laborious to create such an OS.
An example was the automatic sleeping of applications in the background when Android seq was overwhelmed and crashed. Today, thanks to performance, it's already done differently.
However, the android still lags and launches applications later or has a slow camera trigger, which nase.e.
No one has explained to me how to set up the iPhone yet. iMessage so that messages don't go twice if data is not turned on on the phone and I connect to WiFi later. SMS also won't be forwarded automatically. Well, just a modern stew Appyou.
"The fact that someone doesn't feel like digging into the system and looking for things to turn on and what they follow up on is really not about stupidity."
Well, you don't have to look for anything on Android, everything has its own logic and is very intuitive. I've never noticed that Android is lagging for me. It's interesting that only Apple users or people who have a phone for a few thousand tell stories about lagging! It's true that the P10 is a bit slower to boot than the iPhone 7, but what's lagging for me is iPhone with one game, so that it cannot be used and I have to forcefully quit the game (Ancient Bricks, on Android it works like a charm, on iOS is probably poorly tuned). When I compare the P10 with iPhonem7, both systems seem equally fast and agile to me, but loading is slower iPhone a little better/faster, has a better processor than Huawei's Kirin, I think it's the same as SnapdragoneIt would be balanced.
Android is not more complex, it just offers more/many options/settings/customizations, iOS It doesn't offer that many options, but it's slowly getting closer, which is good!
But it's true that if you don't want to dig around in your phone and change anything, just grab it and use it, then it's probably for you. iOS a "better" choice, although it works on Android too.
One example of where Android is undoubtedly better is the top bar, where you can adjust quick settings for everything you need + add/remove what you need. iOS It has something similar in the bottom bar, but there's not much you can adjust or set there.
I understand, but that the defenders of their beloved AppThey will even defend its shortcomings, how great it is and present the lack and imperfection as an advantage, or otherwise gloss over it. The worst thing is when someone really believes it, I feel sorry for such people, they are unable to make their own decisions and look at things from a different perspective and have a certain ability to empathize...
I don't mean to say that everyone is like that Apple-fans, there are also exceptions from the unwashed brain, kudos to them!
I have one for the 10, I wouldn't trade it for a Samsita or an iPhone
The only reason I'm thinking about switching to a Samsung is its ability to use a mobile phone as a PC. I still hope it will introduce i apple.
I am still from iphone 5s hasn't switched to Android - but I will if I have to Apple will not offer a mobile phone with a display up to 4,5 inches. Which is probably already a utopia.
"I guess someone takes a sickening pleasure in carrying a wallet or a card in their pockets everywhere.." WTF? I don't understand your post at all?
It seems like you are condemning people who carry a wallet with documents and cards (and therefore the very act of carrying a wallet). In conclusion, with "complete digitization will be lacking" it seems that you do not agree with full digitization... Neither do I, digital slavery is knocking on the door and it is only a matter of time when the "beast" (satan, 666) marks his subjects (chip under the skin). In any case, you have to have your ID with you by law! Where should you have your ID card with documents and cards than in your pocket (from a security point of view), thrown in a bagel (or some trendy alias – "gay" shoulder bag)?
Comparison of defectors from Android to iOS and from iOS k A doesn't say anything because it would be interesting to know if 30% of Androids out of 100 or 1000 or 1 million escaped to iOS and vice versa 47% of users iOS out of 100 or 1000 or 1 million switched to Android (better user experience)
It's Čenda: I was sickened by the fact that he was jumping from iPhone 7 on S9, then S7 gets involved edge (how did he get his hands on it when he gave Android aancis S9) and ends on iPhone 8, each of those phones has (+), but also (-), of the ones mentioned, the S9 probably has the least (I'm basing it on my S9+), for example, iPhone X is better, but I probably only held it in my hand in Alza = I don't use it, so I don't write about it!
Personally, I miss working with files in comparison. When I wanted to upload anything to my mobile phone, without iTunes on iPhone it didn't work. iTunes has to be paired with a computer where you have your music and other libraries. This really bothered me. This is a UX fail. I have a mobile phone, I want to upload documents, music, upload something to someone, why should I be limited to the computer I have at home when I need it at work. This was one of the main reasons why I switched to Android. The second reason was that iOS it was still the same and in 2 years of use I didn't notice any improvements, new usable features and such telling me how to do things according to what I want Apple he thinks he is the best for me. I am a specific type of user and these were my reasons.
With Android, I see a change in the update problem. As each Android manufacturer adds to it, they are not able to update new things as quickly. And the classic user shed - buy a train ship, you'll get the next Android and maybe the next one, but you'll have to buy our flagship again, it's just a waste. Apple is capable of iOS 12 still support the old man iPhone 5.
Karel: I have an Android and I'm definitely not a self-centered ox who claims he has to Apple catch up. Tell that to the kids in the park and then compare the copies Applu. On the other hand, Android has a lot to catch up on in terms of usability, and that is that it has a million sensors and the settings are rather detrimental. Just like in a car on the dashboard, if you understand. But people are attracted to Android with the style of "the more stripes, the more Adidas", right? Unfortunately, you have no idea how an intelligent OS is supposed to work. Definitely not like a self-service with millionsonem products and take care.
And the wonder of the world is actually slowing down, still.
I understand, but that bitter retort AppThey will keep going on and on about how great the setup is and how wonderfully safe and divinely smooth it works.
No, it doesn't work, and certainly not with a computer and other products, but you've definitely tried it and it's definitely better on Android. Ha Ha.
