The game brand Total War has literally become an icon of strategic titles during its long existence in the field of the game industry. Over a dozen games have already been released under the auspices of the well-known series, which can be found across multiple platforms. In addition to the classic adaptation for PC and MacOS, we have been able to play these games on iPads for a few years now. Now, however, even the smallest part of the Apple family is being added to the list of available platforms. As of today, we can enjoy ROME: Total War on our iPhones.

The mobile processing of the original game from 2013 brings the same possibilities as in the case of iPads. There is no shortage of excellent optimization and simple controls, whether in the battle itself or on the game map. Initially, the fact of the arrival of this title on iPhone was a little worrying, given the potentially problematic gameplay on the small screen. Beta however, the version of the game quickly led me astray, as the control and overall processing of the game is 100% clear. Of course, if you haven't played any of the titles of the Total War saga, the initial moments spent in the game can seem confusing, but the comprehensive tutorial will fix all that.

The handling of combat sieges is of the same quality as in the case of MacOS or the iPad version.

However, before purchasing the title, be careful if your mobile phone is compatible with the game. I personally tested the game on iPhone 6, 6 Plus and 8, and I did not experience any significant lags or problems with gameplay on less powerful models. To run ROME: Total War, you must own one of the following iPhones:

  • iPhone 8 plus
  • iPhone 7 plus
  • iPhone 6splus
  • iPhone 6 plus
  • iPhone X
  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 6
  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone SE
  • iPhone 5s
  • iPod Touch (6th generation)

A system is required to install the game iOS 11 and 4 GB of free memory. This is the same version as in the case of iPads, so if you own the game with this version, on iPhone the mobile version will automatically become available to you. In addition, the played progress and content is equally available on both devices.

  • Game ROME: Total War for devices with iOS is available in App Store
