Twitter and Facebook announced that they had removed hundreds of fake accounts for coordinated inauthentic behavior. Most of the fake accounts were linked to Iran, but some were linked to Russian military intelligence. Twitter removed 284 accounts and Facebook 652 accounts. According to cybersecurity company FireEye, which also provided tips on fake accounts to social networks, the accounts' activity was not only aimed at the upcoming US general elections. According to it, it had a broader scope.
