The editors have received information that the relatively well-known Czech service na tasking in a team - Freelo, has new mobile applications. We decided to make their iOS We'll take a look at the application. We'll touch it a bit and write our observations and recommendations from internal use.

Guys would like with their app eradicate tasks in emails. And it should be noted that it is really good for routine agenda and delegation. You can download the application in AppStore free and you can further use the service for free on two projects in a team of three. If you need more, you must choose one of the paid plans. It's nice that you don't pay for each user.

At first glance, we were struck by the fact that this is not a native application, which I would expect at this level, but just a packaged web version. However, I appreciate the workmanship. Everything is possible control at the click of a button, it displays everything quite quickly and the usability is not bad. Freelo it can send native notifications or attach a file to a task, for example by taking a photo. So it can be seen that the guys did not slouch and the application can handle typical use cases without any problems. If you start directly in the mobile application without prior knowledge of the web version, the initial exploration may be more difficult for you. In time, however, everything will start to fit together well and you will find your way around.

What is Freelo good for in a newsroom like ours?

Freelo has quite a few well-crafted template system and checklists. Thanks to this, basic processes and often repeated multi-step tasks can be solved. When we start writing an article, we have a few routine steps that we don't want to forget. From defining the goal of the article, through revisions, to sharing in the right places. All of this involves a lot of steps. You in Freel we easily define it and subsequently use it over and over again. So the work can flow almost "on autopilot". This saves us a lot of time and keeps us up to the standard we set for ourselves.

Pleasant is in Freel and a calendar that can give an overview of when an article will be published. It is easy to change publication dates by dragging the mouse and, as a bonus, tasks that do not yet have a deadline can easily be placed in the calendar. We recognize that this is a really smart solution for bulk appointment matching.

The integrated is also worth mentioning Time tracking. That is, measuring the time that each of us spends on writing an article or related work. Just tap Start/Stop for each task. It is as pleasant to use as the popular Toggl. Timesheets can even be further invoiced (or marked as invoiced), track set budgets and more. Bigger teams will definitely appreciate that.

In addition to tasks in Freel they can also write notes or documents. However, these are very limited, so we would definitely stick to verified Google Docs for writing articles. However, notes are fine as an additional space for collecting materials, links or documents. The possibility was also pleasant for me star tasks. That is, including the task in "My priorities". This list is then right in front of my eyes on the Dashboard. Thanks to this, I don't have to be distracted by all the tasks from the projects, but focus only on this "shortlist".

However, in order not to just praise, I tried to write down a few minuses in the following points that might put some of you off using it. appAt the same time, it is of course appropriate to highlight some of the advantages, which you can also find in the clear points below.

Pros

  •         Czech, Slovak and English localization
  •         Pricing is not based on the number of users
  •         Support for processes and templates
  •         Integrated Timetracking

Cons

  •         The app is not native
  •         So far, more connections to various services are missing
  •         The app does not work offline

You can take a look at the application environment in this short video:

záver

Application will serve well to all existing Freela users. If you're just looking for something for personal productivity, I'd probably look elsewhere. But if you communicate and delegate work regularly in a team, we can Freelo with peace of mind recommend. You enter and communicate a lot of work on the computer. You can then glance at the notifications on your mobile phone, quickly reply or just enter a task.
