Summer is not only a time of fun by the water or long warm evenings in the circle of friends at the grill with good meat and beer, but also a time when, slowly but surely, the vast majority of fruits on trees and bushes ripen. But what if you don't have time to grow fruit, vegetables or herbs in your own garden, or if you live in an apartment building and don't have a garden? Fortunately, there is a very pleasant solution for these cases as well.

Have you ever heard of the Na ovoce initiative? Right? No problem. In short, it is an initiative that is aware of the natural wealth around us in the landscape and tries to advise or help people on how to use it responsibly for their own benefit and at the same time help nature. This initiative has quite a few interesting projects underway. But since you are reading a technology portal, we will focus on the one that is probably the most interesting to us – iOS an application that allows you to find fruit trees, bushes and herbs in your area in freely accessible places. In other words, thanks to the application you can find and collect fruit or herbs for free. The only thing you should follow when collecting is the code of the collector, which you can read here.
The app works exactly as you'd probably expect it to. After the initial launch and enabling the location, you will see a lot of icons on the very clear map, which have been entered into the map by registered users using this application. You can then browse the map and look for exactly what you want. The problem is not finding cherries, apples or plums, but also wild garlic, which should definitely not be missing from your spice rack thanks to its taste.
Don't know when what ripens? No problem
The collection period is also handled very nicely, i.e. the time when the fruit ripens and after which it is very likely that you will no longer find it on trees, bushes or on the ground. So, if you are not sure whether currants ripen in June or July, you can simply find out via the icon in the bottom menu. Of course, these data are rather indicative. With the temperatures prevailing this summer, many fruits ripened much earlier and therefore you might not find them on the trees now, although the application tells you that they should be ripening.
As for the actual collection points marked on the map, they are mostly provided with a short description of the person who marked them on the map. Thanks to this, you will be able to get a great picture of whether the apple trees you are about to go to are in an abandoned orchard in a field or lining the road. You can then start navigation to the individual collection points, which runs directly in the application and reliably leads you to your destination.

Well, the registration in appto... not even through a FB account or a new registration
Herbs ? Hmmm :D
Western civilization is doomed. Only a complete idiot can use such an app. Guys, wake up.
Thanks for the tip. I often visit this website for inspiration and ideas. This looks interesting, even though appka is not full of data. It's just that if someone has their own places, they don't like to share. I also planted wild garlic near my place and appI won't give it to her. 😀
Shouldn't the collector's name be written instead?
This is like an app to help you rob fruit?
Pear tree? 😂😂 since when? I hear Apple for the first time, I understand, but it was always called Hruška
https://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hrušeň since time immemorial
The idea is good, but it is an outdated, outdated application. It is missing a lot of trees and since it is impossible to register, it is not possible to add them. Unfortunately, the author of the article did not bother app test….
