Over the past few years, DJI has earned the status of a reliable seller of quality drones that are sought after by both amateurs and professionals. Of course, the biggest difference can be found in the price categories, and it is at this point that Yuneec wants to intervene. The new Mantis Q model is available at a price tag of $500, but in addition to the camera and video camera from a bird's-eye view, we will get a complete package of functions. The drone has voice control that works at several levels depending on how we want to use the machine. Classic commands such as "turn left" or "turn around" are supplemented by the possibility of creating photos or landing at the place you specify.
Mantis Q also impresses with its weight, as it weighs a little less than 0,5 kg, so you can comfortably put it in a smaller bag or backpack. The drone reaches a speed of 70,8 km/h, which is quite remarkable considering its small size. The battery life is also not to be thrown away. The drone lasts about 30 minutes on a single charge, depending on how it is used. With this model, Yuneec would like to compete with the aforementioned DJI, more precisely with the extremely popular Spark model. In addition to the gadgets described, the machine has a built-in chip for face recognition, which is connected to voice control. Mantis should thus be able to recognize a given person from 13 feet (almost 4 meters), which is not much, but the possibility will certainly please. It's hard to say whether the company will succeed in dethroning DJI, but the creators certainly deserve recognition for their new model in the form of the Mantis Q.
