A few days ago, Turkish President Erdogan announced a boycott of American goods. He specifically mentioned iPhones from Applu and tried to convince the citizens of Turkey that they have their own manufacturers of phones and other electronics, and therefore do not need American companies at all. Erdogan took this step mainly because of the rapid decline in the value of the Turkish currency. The USA, led by Donald Trump, is to blame for this, which imposed economic sanctions against Turkish steel and aluminum. And supporters of the Turkish president took his words about the boycott literally and took to the streets, where they smashed their iPhones.

It is an exaggeration to say that Apple and their iPhones are Turkey's biggest enemy right now. Several videos have appeared on the Internet, and in one of them, after a short speech, a man takes a large stick and smashes five iPhones. At the end of the video, they are left with nothing but a crushed pile of electronics, and it's funny that the classic iPhone ringtone plays in the last seconds of the video. It's hard to say whether it's based on one of the broken pieces, or the actors of the video didn't "sacrifice" all the iPhones.

The beginning of the entire dispute between the United States of America and Turkey is the imprisonment of the American pastor Andrew Brunson. Trump imposed economic sanctions after the Turkish side did not comply with his request to release a pastor who is accused of espionage and terrorism. However, according to the US, he is an ordinary man who has a family and has been living in Turkey for 20 years. The current situation is that Apple will no longer accept new orders from Turkey, and even the largest retail chains are already canceling orders at the moment. For example, Dogubank canceled an order for iPhones worth 50 million dollars.
