Touch ID is with users AppIt's a very popular technology, but many fear it may not be with us for much longer. Last year Apple introduced iPhone X and new technology Face ID, which replaced the popular fingerprint reader here. And according to all available evidence, it looks like all three iPhone models that should Apple on September Keynote imagine, they will also miss Home Button, in which it was Touch ID placed.

However, according to one of the patents Appwould like to be missing Home Button didn't have to mean even konec Touch IDThe patent describes a new technology that would allow a fingerprint reader to be embedded directly into the device's display. It's called an optical fingerprint reader, and a similar technology is currently being used by a handful of Chinese smartphone makers. It's expected to arrive next year.ultrasonic" readers from Samsung in their model Galaxy S10. However, even that differs from the technology it describes Apple in his patent, differs.
Thus Apple describes the new technology in the patent:
Apple would use several cameras placed under one of the layers of the display itself if this technology were to be implemented. Of course, the user will not see the cameras and they will only be used to capture a 3D image of the fingerprint attached to the device's display. There would be more cameras in the device and they would be able to determine the 3D structure of the print sample. They would then compare this with the prints stored in the device.
Of course we know how it is with Applema patents works - the Cupertino company submits a large number of applications, but only a few of them will actually see real use. In this case, however, we believe that this is a technology that would be in their devices Apple liked to implement. Some users still prefer Touch ID before Face ID and with this step everyone could choose variathe one that is more pleasant to him.
good day, it is not possible that this apple used, for example, in production apple Watch?
Even if there were x other models, I would still buy the older one just because it should touch id 😀
this has been here before, at least don't repeat yourself….
After switching to Xko, I Touch ID and overall home button is absolutely not missing, it only took me a few hours to get used to it. It is much more pleasant to control everything with your finger directly on the display than to constantly tap or press a button. With touch ID I often had problems, greasy fingers, or it simply didn't want to recognize my fingerprint, so most of the time I had to type in the code to unlock my phone. With face ID I absolutely don't care about this. 😀 Touch ID a Home button they want on iPhoneJust people who haven't tried Xko yet and therefore don't know what makes it better to not have any buttons.
I've never had a problem with TouchID, but I use FaceID every day.”Touch ID a Home button they want on iPhone"Just people who haven't tried Xko yet and therefore don't know what's better than not having any buttons." - nonsense!
TouchID is wanted by people who don't want to keep staring at their phones.onem for the first imperfect generation to recognize him. It was enough for a person to eat, close his eyes in a strange way, lie closer to the pillow, just anything nestandardniho (and that such situations are found during the day, one does not even know about it). This technology is not yet at a level where it is more convenient than TouchID. So much for my observations after more than half a year of using X. I went back to 8.
Wow vegas, I didn't think of that and these are very good observations from using it - people don't realize how often they use touchID in other ways (mainly tapping the phone lying around) what you described is interesting how I unlock my phone hundreds of times a day - it's interesting not to drink coffee or eat or be with others seriously setting up FaceId - I had a Lumia 950 with an iris scanner, so I know about what it's about, but it was quite imperfect there, but how could it be done...
Me because of the missing TouchID on the iPhone X iPhone progave up after two months and went back to the 6s Plus.
FaceiD worked 99% of the time in normal situations, but it almost NEVER worked:
In bed: Shining directly into my face when I took my phone from the bedside table and wanted to look at it, really not! Pushing a pin, it wakes a person up again...
On a bike: Glasses, sun, helmet - I'm riding through the forest, I want to look at the maps while driving and he doesn't and doesn't want to unlock himself, so either use a pin, which isn't very possible when riding fast off-road, or try to keep going. With TiD, I unlock the phone when I take it out of my pocket and I blink and see
In the car: iPhone in the heater grille I just look at the FaceID completely different than when I'm sitting behind the wheel, so either take it in my hand and wave it in front of my face, or use the PIN again. I don't know what's worse in a car. with TiD I press it, I see what's there, I turn it off...
So much for my experience…
That's strange, I don't have any problems with FaceID. It recognizes me both soaked in a pillow and with glasses and a bicycle helmet, a cap, a scarf, even if I pick my nose. It doesn't recognize me in maybe 1% of cases, but I enter the PIN and the phone saves that face in its memory.
I also like the touch more than anything else. Too bad he has it iphone perhaps the lowest quality 😞 with a slightly sweaty hand, its functioning is very bad compared to the competition.
I agree with this when the hands are dry the recognition is quick and 100% however, a little moisture is enough and not that wet fingers are already 50% to 50% that it unlocks 1 time, I really have a Samsung, especially now in the summer, it seems to me that the fingerprint reader works better, so much personal experience
TouchID absolutely does not recognize when hands are sweaty, maxat least the first time, then when sweat or dirt dries on the button, it doesn't respond. But what annoys me the most is that even if I press the button once, twice, three times or more, the dialer for entering the pin doesn't pop up.
