They approved a few months ago europostancand new rules that deal with civil aviation safety. Specifically, they focused on the increasingly popular drones and voted on regulations that will apply throughout the European Union. It is important to note that the new rules will only apply to devices that develop a kinetic energy of 80 J or more upon impact. This force can already pose a health risk to a person on whom the drone falls. Initially, a device weight limit of 250 g or more was proposed, and it is possible that it will beonec valid this varianta.

The European Commission decided to take this step for several reasons. Firstly, many drone owners do not respect safety rules and endanger people around them, who are at risk of injury if the drone falls. Moreover, they often fly in prohibited or populated areas. Another reason is the assumption of a huge expansion of this still marginal and rather hobby matter into the commercial sphere. It is not so long ago that, for example, Amazon started delivering its shipments using drones.

Drones are just a toy for many people, but they can also be dangerous.

The most important news are two. The first of these will be the necessity to mark each drone with a kind of "license plate" mark in the form of an identification number. It will have to be placed in a visible place and in case of violation of the rules it will be easy to find out who the owner is. The second major change concerns the training of pilots, who will now have to pass a test to demonstrate their knowledge of flying itself, safety and various rules and prohibitions.

Drones will also start to fall into three categories. The vast majority of small machines that will not need to be registered will fall into the first one. The second is just for drones with a registration obligation, and the third will mainly contain machines for military purposes. And when will we see the introduction of all the aforementioned innovations? According to the latest reports, the regulation should enter into force as early as September of this year, with a kind of two-year trial period starting after that. Realistically, it looks like the beginning of 2021.
