Commercial message: Xiaomi Mi Band 3 is the bigger and smarter successor of two generations of highly successful smart bracelets. With the previous generation Mi Band 2, Xiaomi made a big splash in the world of smart bracelets, and the Mi Band became the world's best-selling device of its kind. After two years, a successor arrives that has learned from its predecessor's mistakes and promises new features and improvements.

A fundamental innovation that fills the bracelet with new potential is the touch OLED display with a resolution of 128 x 80 pixels. The display is 2 centimeters in size and can be controlled by touch. These are basic gestures where you switch between individual functions by swiping from top to bottom or from right to left. Despite the significantly improved display, a respectable battery life on a single charge was maintained. The battery capacity has increased from 70 mAh to 110 mAh, which should be enough to run the bracelet for a full 20 days (with the continuous heart rate measurement turned off).

Along with the higher battery capacity, the dimensions of the sensor itself have also increased. The sensor dimensions of 46,9 x 17,9 x 12 mm can still be considered small, but for those upgrading from the previous generation, it's already a noticeable difference. The rounded glass surface looks very elegant and will not embarrass you even at more important social events. However, due to its construction, it will probably be more susceptible to abrasion, so it is appropriate to consider the use of a protective film, which will certainly help with a few scratches. 

All the functions that the number two was already capable of have been preserved and some have even been improved. The heart rate and pedometer functions have been improved and should record more accurate readings. The caller's name is also displayed when there is an incoming call, and there is an option to reject the call. In the same way, you can read the text of incoming sms and application notifications on the display of your bracelet, that is, at least those for which you wish. For example, you can read messages from social networks without taking your phone out of your pocket. Although it can't display hooks and dashes yet, it's still one of the very nice innovations.  Using the already mentioned gestures, you can now also view the weather forecast for the next three days on the touch screen or ring your phone if you can't find it at the moment.

In the Mi Fit app, which is available for Android and iOS, we will find a number of other functions and we can expect more to come in the future. Among the functions already available, you can find, for example, a smart alarm clock that wakes you up at the most appropriate moment, a reminder for an event you have created, or a notification of inactivity in case you have been inactive for a long time.

Since the bracelet is primarily intended for sports, it is also important that it is durable. Mi Band 3 meets the IP68 standard and is therefore completely waterproof, up to a depth of 50m. So you can dive with it carefree and you don't have to worry that the bracelet will suffer in any way. The manufacturers also promise greater durability of the silicone bracelet in which the sensor is installed. It should be stronger and should ensure that the sensor does not fall out of the strap even after a long time.

Also worth mentioning is the status of the Mi Fit application, through which the bracelet synchronizes data with the phone.onem. It has undergone many modifications recently and has become very user-friendly. Everything works smoothly and intuitively. The application, unlike the bracelet firmware, is completely in Czech, so using it will not be a problem for anyone. 

Although the bracelet is currently only offered in a version for the Chinese market, in which some labels are in Chinese, it is possible to upload an updated firmware to the bracelet with English or Czech labels, or simply switch the phone language to English, so that the bracelet and the application will be fully in English. Detailed instructions for installing the language are provided in the product description. However, this is a temporary solution, because as soon as the bracelet is released in Europe, the language will be standard, regardless of the version of the bracelet.
