The company's recent patent application Apple looks very dangerous at first glance. This is a concept that would make it possible to make FaceTime calls while driving a car. The entire patent envisages an augmented reality windshield, on which information would be projected while driving in both autonomous and non-autonomous vehicles. It could be, for example, an indicator of the current speed of the car and the permitted speed in the given section. Other information relevant to the given section of road (accident, convoy, road repair) would also be displayed.

In the patent application, there is a reference to FaceTime that reads: "In some embodiments, an augmented reality display system included in a vehicle enables visual communication between occupants of the vehicle as well as with an occupant of another vehicle." It sounds mind-boggling, but such a description in conjunction with Applem clearly evokes FaceTime. The patent also describes how to incorporate this technology into non-autonomous human-driven cars to increase driver and passenger comfort.

Autonomous vehicle interior concept:

We will probably see something similar only in the horizon of the next few decades in a world where autonomous cars will be a long-established standard, and the driver will not have to follow the events around him at all. After that, it will be possible to concentrate on FaceTime while driving. Another one was recently published patent application Applu, which discussed technology that allows you to customize your ride based on measuring the body functions of passengers. Today, it all sounds like a lot of science fiction, but on the other hand, it's great how Apple thinks ahead.
