Elon Musk is a famous visionary who has already launched a vehicle into space. And now he comes up with another crazy idea, which concerns the planet Mars. It has been talked about for a long time in connection with its terraforming. This means the deliberate transformation of the atmosphere, temperature and natural conditions to make them as close as possible to those on Earth. The biggest problem in this regard is the thin layer of the atmosphere of Mars, which is why it is necessary to move around in a spacesuit. The low atmospheric pressure is to blame, which would cause the organs in the body to burst. Of course, this is also related to the lack of oxygen, high ultraviolet radiation or temperature.

Already in 2015, Musk came up with the proposal that it would be possible to use nuclear weapons to release enough carbon dioxide from the planet's underground and thereby increase the layer of the atmosphere and its pressure. A scientific study published in the journal Nature Astronomy looked at the same question and tried to answer how to reach atmospheric pressure without even needing to use breathing tools.

Musk already got the car into space, now it's time to populate Mars.

However, the result of the research is disappointing, because according to him, there is not enough carbon dioxide on Mars to help increase the pressure to the necessary level. Its quantity would help raise the atmospheric pressure to 7% of that on Earth. The current state is roughly 6%. Of course, this is not even enough for us to be able to move around the planet without a space suit, let alone breathing apparatus.

Musk, however, is not going to be deterred. On Monday, he tweeted that there is enough carbon dioxide on Mars to terraform the planet. However, he did not say how he came to this conclusion. So it looks like we will have to wait a few more years for regular trips to Mars. However, according to NASA, this is not an impossible thing and it is said that we could really succeed in the future. NakoneMusk plans to send the first people to Mars as early as 2024.
