The creative group consisting of former members of the studios CD Projekt Red, Traveler's Tales and Infinite Dreams brought us titles like Flashout 3D or Suspect in Sight in the past. The idea of the Kursk game came about in 2015, when the studio's intentions to create a unique documentary adventure were confirmed. According to the creators, it will be the first full-fledged game with a documentary focus ever.
Gameplay will focus on exploring the submarine and its secrets from the first person. During the story, you will be able to try working with different mechanisms and witness a historical disaster that is still shrouded in mystery. The game offers a completely new perspective on the still unknown cause of this tragedy and an unadulterated gaming experience connected with the virtual presence on board the huge machine.
The game takes a whole collection of mechanical features that have been transformed into game form over the years and uses them to tell a specific story. Players can therefore look forward to a dose of action, combined with an educational-documentary version of the game, during the ten-hour story. The title Kursk will be available for PC and Mac, eventually also for console fans PS4 and Xbox One. For Mac and PC, the game will have full 4K support. Perfect graphic processing will be complemented by a soundtrack by experienced composer Mikolai Stroinski. As mentioned, the circumstances causing the disaster have not been explained to this day, which frees the creative space for processing.
The team of developers also prepared bonus content for players in the form of two DLCs. The first expansion, called Kengir, will describe the escape of one of the Soviet prisoners from a labor camp in 1954. The name of the DLC was chosen according to the name of the labor facility from which you will try to escape in the upcoming story. The second addition should focus on combining the game and virtual reality. Both additions will be accessible immediately after the arrival of the game itself.
