The fact that Czechs pay almost the most for mobile data of all Europeans is not top secret information that CIA units would have to keep. It's just known. However, this could change in the near future. The Czech Telecommunications Authority (ČTÚ) has decided to implement its plan to regulate the wholesale market of operators, which would clip the wings of the big domestic three. The proposal is now being assessed by the European Commission.
Anything below CZK 1 could be considered the top price for 30 GB of mobile data. 30-50 CZK will be fine. Above the 50 CZK per GB mark, everything is just an embarrassing attempt by operators to make money on us. Especially with the coverage that everyone is so proud of. The transfer speed has almost no role if you don't watch videos and nestyou download movies, LTE you will not perceive it. But who will offer you such a price? Nobody in the Czech Republic.
According to the CTU, the three largest domestic operators, Vodafoneone, T-Mobile and O2, consciously limit business to hundreds virtual operators. Since they do not own any communication infrastructure, they have to conclude contracts with the operators of the big three, on the basis of which they gain access to mobile services. According to the Telecommunications Authority, however, they arethe prices that network owners ask for rent are exorbitant.Because of this, he would like to introduce regulation that would lead to greater competition on the market and a subsequent increase in pressure to lower prices for consumers.

However, it remains to be seen whether the proposal for this regulation will be supported by the European Commission. He has until this summer to make a decision, during which the final verdict would be announced to me. However, the work for ČTÚ does not end there, but rather begins. He will have to defend the upcoming regulation by analyzing the mobile market, which may take several months, before it becomes effective.
"The capped price for data should not exceed 15 pennies per MB. However, the real amount on the market is several times higher. Big operators don't sell data in units, but in packages where one megabyte is much more expensive," representative of small operators Humpolík stated for the ihned.cz server.
Virtual ones, which include, for example, the well-known Czech publishing company Ringier, BLESKmobile, or SAZKAmobil belonging to the bettingancThe owners of SAZKA as, however, refuse to wait to see how this whole affair turns out. They want to start fighting against the absurdly high fees in the coming weeks. At present, their profits have fallen so low that that their business is mostly unprofitable. If they really do so, it will be the first ever official dispute between small providers and the big three since virtual operators first appeared on the Czech market in 2012.
The trio of mobile operators, on the other hand, is strictly against regulation. O2 said any capping of wholesale prices wouldit did not lead to a discount, but on the contrary to an increase in prices for end customers. She justifies it by saying that somewhere she would have to compensate for the reduced profits from her virtual rivals.
It's embarrassing, because e.g. in Iceland Vidafone offers 20GB of data and unlimited calls for around 600CZK.. the population capacity here is, according to official sources, a little over 350 thousand people.. regardless of the fact that only data is being used here, unlimited calls and SMS to all networks (there are 2) is a given.. everything can also be purchased at these prices without a contract, i.e. without a flat rate‼️ so what kind of profit compensation?
I pay €6 for 1GB, but that's fine, it's Orange
It's really embarrassing. I have been with Vodafone since the beginning of their 21 years on the market, when Oskarek came to the market, and I have unlimited SMS, unlimited calls + 300 min. calls to the EU and only 2,5GB. internet for NOK 618, which I think is a lot compared to abroad.
T-mobile.pl in Poland has unlimited calls + no limit in the EU, unlimited sms + no limit in the EU, 10GB. data + 1,61GB. in the EU for only CZK 155. per month for a 24-month contract. Hell, why does it work elsewhere and not here in the Czech Republic?
Another offer from the Polish operator Plus.pl has unlimited calls, also without limit throughout the EU, unlimited SMS, also without limit throughout the EU, 10GB. data + limited data 1,61GB. throughout the EU and that too for only 155,- CZK. per month, but this operator without 24 months. contract and commitment and even free data FacebookInstagram Messenger, WhatsApp.
And if you want data for music, YouTube videos for travel, garden or anywhere, Plus.pl operator will give it to you for 5 zł. = CZK 31 per month without commitment and contracts ???
Someone in our telecommunications office must be taking heavy bribes to make it the way it is.
Above all, let those pricesonewill be able to reduce it to normal levels. The current situation is unbearable.
