That Apple will introduce three iPhones this fall, is already considered by many of us to be a done deal. After all, we hear this statement from analysts almost every day, so it is very likely that we will actually see something similar. This trio should include two premium models with OLED displays and one cheaper iPhone with a classic LCD. He would like that Apple he aimed primarily at the type of customer who is not willing to pay a thousand dollars for a new phone, which is of course a really high amount. Of course, this investigation does not come without certain compromises for this model.

The biggest compromise, if it can be considered a compromise at all, is the replacement of the OLED display with a classic LCD display, which all current iPhones have except for the "tens". However, a different display will not be the only thing Apple will try to bring down the cost of this model to minimum. We should also expect an aluminum body instead of a steel one, which Apple used with the iPhone X. However, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo Apple The LCD model of the iPhone X also "eyes" the 3D Touch technology, which was first introduced to the iPhone 6s.

Kuo informed us some time ago that the LCD display of the cheap iPhone will not respond to pressure. However, at that time we did not have to consider this news as completely relevant, since it was quite a long time after the arrival of the new iPhones. However, since the analyst repeated his prediction again, saying that thanks to the absence of 3D Touch, the production costs and thus the final price will again be significantly reduced, we should start to worry. All the more so when we recap Ku's predictions from the past years, finding that they were almost always very accurate.

This is what the LCD model of the iPhone X could look like compared to iPhonem X from last year:

Removing 3D Touch as the first step of a revolution?

While removing 3D Touch may seem like a very uncomfortable trade-off for the price, it's possible that Apple sooner or later he resorted to it. There have been rumors in the backroom that Apple is working on a touchless control system for iPhones that would work on the principle of finger movements over the display. The sensors in it would then recognize many things, including distance or tilt, according to which the phone would respond. It is therefore clear that with the arrival of this new feature, 3D Touch would begin to lose its meaning more or less, as its function would be replaced by finger movements over the display.

So let's see if Ku's predictions are realistic or not. If however Apple really iPhone without 3D Touch, it would probably disappoint many of its customers. On the other hand, it can be expected that a smartly chosen price would easily cover this problem.
