Some time ago, the well-known German publisher Axel Springer went to federal court with a lawsuit against Eyeo, the company behind AdBlock, which is used to block advertisements. The publisher was most bothered by the existence of a whitelist of websites, where blocking does not occur after paying a certain fee to their operator and fulfilling a few conditions. The court dismissed the lawsuit saying that ad blocking is not illegal. In addition, he added that he considers the development of this software to be completely legal.
