Company QNAP today introduced unmanageable switches QSW-1208-8C (twelve ports) and QSW-804-4C (eight ports) for 10GbE/NBASE-T, enabling homes and small businesses to upgrade their networks and provide 10GbE speeds for higher data throughput. The NBASE-T based switch offers a cost-effective solution for improving network performance using existing Cat 5e, 6 and 6a cables.
The QSW-1208-8C has twelve 10GbE ports, including four SFP+ (optical fiber) and eight combined SFP+ / RJ-45 (copper) ports. The QSW-804-4C has eight 10GbE ports, including four SFP+ (optical fiber) and four combined SFP+ / RJ-45 (copper) ports, making it an optimized 10GbE networking investment. The QSW-1208-8C and QSW-804-4C devices are also backward compatible with legacy standards and support the IEEE 802.3az (Energy Efficient Ethernet, EEE) standard to reduce power consumption and maintain high network performance and quality.
