The entire world was dealing with the attack on Syria on Saturday, and somehow the football field-sized asteroid 2018 GE3 that flew close to our planet was forgotten. NASA only noticed it a few hours before the very close flyby. At the same time, the 2018 GE3 flew by really close. It was half as close to our planet as the moon, which sometimes happens to other asteroids, but they are much smaller. “If it hit Earth, it would cause regional damage, not global. And it could disintegrate in the atmosphere before hitting the surface,” wrote SpaceWeather magazine.
