Most macOS device users know that they can Safari they can simply erase history from the last hour, day, two days, or since the beginning of time. But fewer of them know that they are in Safari the ability to delete, for example, only one specific entry from the history. This can be useful in several situations - for example, when you want to buy a gift for your beloved and you don't want her to find out - or you don't want her to find out what "special" sites you visit during your free time. I think each of us can find a reason. Deleting only a specific entry from the history is quite simple. So let's see how to do it.

How to delete only a certain item from history

Let's open Safari and in top bar we click on the tab Our Story. From the drop-down menu that appears, we select the first option, namely View all history. Our history will be shown to us separately in panel (if you don't want to lose the page you just opened, I recommend that you open a new browser panel). Here we then find the button Delete history. Using this button, we can delete records from certain time periods (as I already mentioned in the introduction). If we want to delete only one specific record, we will mark it by clicking. Then we click on it right (when MacBooku with two fingers na trackpadu) and choose the option Delete. We can also delete it by marking the item and pressing the key Delete on the keyboard.

You can also use the function to delete only one specific record with a magnifying glass, which is located in upper right part screens. If you know exactly which record you want to delete and can't find it, just type part of the record into the search.

In conclusion, I will just share one piece of information - if you ever decide to delete an item from the history, please note that this entry will be permanently deleted. If you would like to restore the history for some reason, you will only be able to do so if you have created a backup.
