I have grown quite fond of Klipsch over the past two years, when I have tried a number of their models. I simply enjoy the sound quality that this American company from Indiana offers. Therefore, I was interested in how the legendary sound is in the case of cheap models of earplugs, which can become your partner not only on the go, but also during sports and everywhere else where you don't want to drag your headphones. Today we will take a look at the Klipsch Reference R6i II, which are earplugs with a remote control that is compatible with iOS devices.
The headphones themselves are available in two colors variants, where in one we find a combination of white and silver and in the other the combination of black and copper, which is completely typical for Klipsch. Of course, this is just a matter of taste, but personally, if I had to choose, I would always reach for the combination of copper and black at Klipsch, the combination of which not only looks very elegant, but is literally a logo for Klipsch. The headphones have a plug-in construction, in which you will appreciate their completely minilight weight, making them comfortable even after long listening sessions. In addition, the R6i version also offers a remote control with microphone.onem, which is directly intended for iOS device and allows you to control not only the volume, but also browse songs, albums, and also answer or reject calls. The workmanship is of high quality, but of course you need to treat the headphones with due respect, because they are not among the most durable pieces I have ever held in my hands.
In addition to the headphones themselves, the package also includes a removable clip for attaching the cable to clothing, a textile bag for carrying, and 3 pairs of spare silicone ear tips of different sizes. Along with the ones that are already standard on the headphones, you have a total of 4 pairs of ear tips available, thanks to which the headphones will fit the ears of the vast majority of listeners. The number of ear tips that Klipsch provides with each headphone that I had the opportunity to test eliminates the possibility that the headphones will not fit in your ears exactly as you want. In addition, you can easily choose whether you want to have 100% the certainty that the headphones will not fall out even during extreme sports, with the understanding that you will have to accept less comfort or that you will not even feel them in your ears.
Of course, the most important thing about any headphone is the sound. When we talk about the sound of any Klipsch product, it is necessary to remember that it is always tuned somewhat playfully and does not play for absolute precision. Basically every respectable brand on the market, which Klipsch certainly is, has its own coloration or if you want a sound distortion that either pleases your ears or you just have to look elsewhere. Klipsch gives its products a playful and pleasant sound, which, however, will not be sought by lovers of orchestral music, where all the instruments and the individual tones they emit must stand out in absolute detail. On the contrary, I dare say everyone who listens to rock music, hip-hop, pop and other similar genres will love it.
In the same spirit of playfulness, the sound of the Klipsch R6i is also carried, which emphasizes pleasantness, dynamics and spaciousness. In short, you will enjoy the sound, and for songs that you play in moments when you need to motivate yourself to perform better, whether in the gym or during any sport, the headphones can even highlight the dynamics of the songs and give you more of a kick. I would not be afraid to describe the spaciousness with which the R6i work as very high quality, even with headphones that are twice as expensive. You hear individual tones with intervals, they do not blend together, and in the case of live concerts, just close your eyes and you will immediately imagine where the individual musicians are standing on stage.
In addition to the music, it is definitely worth watching a movie where not only the sound spatiality stands out, but above all the film effects that literally draw you into the action. When listening to music, especially pop, electronic music or hip-hop, listeners will certainly appreciate the emphasis on the bass component. The bass is pronounced and dense, but on the other hand, the headphones are able to render the bass as well, so you don't have to worry about any mindless rumble, but a really dense sound. If you love electronic music, hip-hop or pop, especially elements created exclusively in digital form on various MPCs and the like, then you have nothing to hesitate.
In every review audio products, I try to emphasize that all evaluations are based on the price category we are in. This time, however, I dare to say that even if the R6i were twice the price, the evaluation would still be the same. In this price category, especially for the model without a microphone, which is available for under two thousand crowns, this is definitely a very interesting purchase, which I can recommend to all lovers of electronic music, hip-hop, pop and, of course, other genres.
If you're looking for good value headphones that have quality sound with a clear Klipsch signature, then the R6i are an interesting choice where you enter the lower mid-range segment and can really enjoy individual tones and distinguish whether you're listening to FLAC or MP3. In addition, if you do not need a microphone and remote control on the cable, you can buy headphones labeled Klipsch Reference R6i, which look and play exactly the same as the Klipsch Reference R6 II reviewed by us and cost only CZK 1990. However, if you want to call from time to time and control playback using a cable, the R6i II is here for you at a price of CZK 2590.
I had an S4i and tried an R6i, but nooneI decided on the X4i.
I lost the S4s somewhere (what a shame) and they were great, balanced sound and wearing the cable around your ears. This greatly isolated the vibrations of the cable from your jacket, etc. The R6s played great, the advantage of the cable is valid but they had too much bass for my taste. NakoneI ended up with the X4i, very nice design, light and they play very evenly. The flat cable doesn't get tangled but transfers vibrations to the headphones (partially solved by the clip).
Klipsch make excellent headphones for, I would say, a very reasonable price.
It definitely won't be fun for me because there are some internal wires leading from it :D so thanks for the dream for free :)
