Related documents and data are preserved. If the application is available in App Store, you will get your data back when you reinstall it.” If you are not very wise, in practice it works like this: when you install a game, for example, the application itself is installed and then other documents and data are downloaded and saved with it - in the case of a game, this can even be your saved position. If you put this game aside, the application is uninstalled, but the application data remains on the phone. This simply means that you will not lose your saved progress in the game, nor will you have to re-download a large amount of data that you need to run the game. All you need to do is re-download the “launcher” application from App Store.
