Do you remember the notifications that popped up in iOS 10 with the approaching arrival iOS 11 and warned that old 32-bit applications would no longer be supported on the new system? I bet it certainly would be. And exactly such warnings come to Apple Watch, respectively, appear in the first beta of the system watchOS 4.3.1. So what do we mean by that?

When Apple released the first developer release about a week ago beta versions of their new systems, among them of course was the 1st. beta watchOS 4.3.1. The numerical designation was quite interesting, because while iOS and tvOS was immediately named 11.4, watchOS boasted more of a small intermediate step. From this, many concluded that this new version of the software compared to the already mentioned iOS won't bring much, which was confirmed by exploring the beta. However, one interesting new feature has been discovered in it thanks to exploring the portal 9to5mac she confirmed after all. Apple has added a warning to the system regarding older applications created through watchOS 1.0 SDK, or the old developer toolkit designed for creating the first applications on Apple WatchSupport for these applications is likely to come with the arrival of watchOS 5 will end.

There is no cause for concern

What does this mean? Practically, only that applications that are created in the old SDK will have to be “upgraded” to the newer SDK for their functionality, which will not be a problem. Accordingly, the rule applies here too that most applications that work on the old SDK will of course receive an upgrade, and those that do not receive it are no longer supported by developers and their quality is therefore not quite as good. Incidentally, we experienced the same story with the arrival of iOS 11, when the end of support for 32-bit applications improved the content of the Apple Store and cleared it of outdated titles. This news will be especially welcome for watches, since the old SDK only allowed applications to be launched in cooperation with iPhoneMoreover, applications built on it were very slow.

It will be quite interesting to see what direction the applications will take Apple Watch further decrease. Although apple cuckoos are hugely popular, some applications still falter on them. Other developers then even give up on them because their user base seems relatively small. A few days ago, for example, we noticed the departure of Instagram, which you can now view only on your phone, tablet or computer.
