At the beginning of the year, we informed you about the upcoming project for iOS, which takes us beyond the walls of the legendary wizarding school and allows us to explore the universe of author JK Rowling. Josh Yguado, who plays the role of president of Jam City, the studio responsible for the Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery project, spoke about this anticipated game title in an interview.

Books, films, games, in short, everything revolving around Harry Potter has inevitably shaped today's generation. For more than a decade, we have been able to meet various game adaptations of the legendary story. The latest addition will be a title from the Jam City studio in collaboration with Warner Bros. In the past, we could enjoy Avengers Academy or games from the animated series Family Guy from this studio. Well, the upcoming Hogwarts Mystery title will certainly see much more success.
Huge brand = huge expectations
There are only a small number of studios that, thanks to their achievements, have earned the status of a proven creator of quality games. According to the latest surveys, the aforementioned Jam City also belongs to the TOP 10 studios. Studio Pop Cap, which has been at the top of the list for a few years thanks to games like Plants vs Zombies or Bejeweled, therefore has to reckon with a potential competitor.
"The home of Jam City is LA, but we also have studios in San Francisca, San Diego, Colombia and Argentina. Over the past 10 years, we have grown and increased in number, currently 500 people work under the brand. We are constantly trying to expand our portfolio and infuse games with a unique and unrepeatable experience", says studio chief executive Josh Yguado.

Harry Potter is without a doubt a strong brand and therefore a lot of quality content will be expected from the game. The very name of the game attracts a wide range of gaming community. But the problem will be to keep her and that puts enormous pressure on the studio. But Yugado is not afraid of that: "Hogwarts Mystery has a very special design. By combining RPG elements and storytelling, each player takes on their own student character, which is completely new in the Harry Potter universe. You create a unique avatar, start attending magic lessons, and then it's up to you to make decisions. Based on each decision, you will influence the further resolution of the story.”

A new take on a familiar story
On the way to becoming the greatest wizard in history, you will be helped by your friends, the spells you learn in class and the improvement of your character. Quidditch and duels between other players are also an integral part of the game. Despite the fact that the game takes place before Harry's arrival in the wizarding world, the story and the gameplay itself fit into the wizarding universe like a glove.
Specifically, this is the period shortly after Lord Voldemort (excuse me for saying his name) makes Harry Potter an orphan. The professors we met in books and movies are younger, so we get the chance to get to know their personal stories more closely. Not involving the basic trio of characters from the movie saga is an excellent step to create a special relationship with the professors and live a completely new story according to yourself. However, it is not excluded that after some time Harry and his friends will not appear in the game.
Tons of free content
Like most of today's popular titles in App Store, and Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery will be available for free. There is also paid content in the form of informationapp-purchase, but the vast majority of game content will be available to everyone. It is not a so-called play-to-win project, the content will be mainly single-player. In its essence, the game is similar to a series, as the content will be constantly added. New chapters, characters and items will gradually be added, which players will enjoy for many months.
