With the arrival of the latest macOS High Sierra 10.13.4, some users have Mac App Store has returned an old known problem, where the badge on the application icon and on the "Updates" tab indicates that an update is available, but in reality no updates are displayed after opening the store and selecting the appropriate tab. Unfortunately, this is a problem that really bothered users three years ago and it seems that it has been fixed. Apple even after such a long time he was not able to completely remove it. If you have also encountered a problem with the release of the latest system update, then we have a guide on how to proceed just for you.

There are two (actually three) ways to view updates and then perform the update. For the first one, you will only need the application Mac App Store, however, the procedure may not work in all cases. To perform the second one, you will need to enter a few simple commands in the Terminal, but it works 100%. The third incomplete method is to simply ignore the updates that are not displayed and just click on Update all. This will allow you to download and install available updates, but you don't actually know what you'll be updating.

1) Mac App Store

1. Open Mac App Store
2. Go to the bookmark updates
3. At the bottom right, click on Czech (Slovak) the flag
4. Choose United States
5. Mac App Store will switch completely to English
6. Click on the tab Updates, you should see all updates including descriptions

2) Terminal

Open Terminal v Application -> Utility and enter the following command:

softwareupdate -l

This will display available updates. If you want to install them all, then use the following command and enter your account password:

sudo softwareupdate -ia && sudo reboot

macOS update terminal
macOS High Sierra missing update
