The company Merriam-Webster reported that it has officially discovered the name for supporters of the Cupertino company in the English dictionary. It is a word Sheep, with one of its definitions saying that by prime example Sheep are fans Appyou.

According to Merriam-Webster, sheeple are people who are docile, compliant, and easily influenced. Essentially, they are people who can be compared to sheep. The dictionary says the first recorded use of the word was in 1945, and as a second example, it explains the word to fans of a company with a logo of a bitten apple.

The irony is that earlier Apple marked in his 1984 ad as Sheep people from IBM. A year later he did Apple a spot called Lemmings, which featured similarly named blind PC users falling off a cliff in the ad.
