Along with the new APFS, the update brought iOS 10.3 also includes several smaller updates and improvements. One of them is the application Apple Maps, which has expanded the functionality of one of the newer features. For a long time, maps in the lower right corner have shown the current temperature and climate conditions in the currently displayed location. However, now you can iOS 10.3 use a simple gesture to display a forecast for several hours at a given location.

If you are traveling somewhere and using maps from Applu, you can now see what the conditions will be like at your destination when you arrive. With this simple but useful innovation, the Californian company will save you time opening the Weather app and searching for a place.

To view the forecast, just search for the desired location on the maps and then press the current temperature indicator in the lower right corner. It follows from this that the function is unfortunately only available for devices with a 3D Touch display, and owners of older iPhones will have to go to the Weather application again and again.

When you press the temperature indicator, “widget" with the current forecast for several hours ahead. If you press even harder, the Weather application will open directly, where you can easily add the current location to the list. If you don't see the forecast icon in the maps, it's possible that you don't have the map zoomed in enough. To view it, just zoom in on the desired location and the forecast should appear.
