Knowledge Apple Music spoke with The Verge over the weekend about collaborating with artist Drake and the success of the Beats 1 radio station, which was launched in conjunction with Apple Music in the year 2015.

Republic Records (a label under Universal Music Group) told The Verge that Drake's new album (More Life) was streamed 300 million times worldwide in its first week on the charts. Apple Music. It has already eclipsed his previous album, Views. It was streamed 250 million times in its first week. More Life was also streamed nearly 90 million times in its first 24 hours, breaking all music service records.
The numbers for More Life are impressive in another way, too. The album is available on Spotify, which has 100 million users, Apple Music they have 20 million. Team Apple Music celebrates Drake's close collaboration with Beats 1 and his OVO Sound Radio show. The show debuted several of Drake's tracks, including "More Life" during its most recent episode. It set a record for the show's most-streamed episode.

One of the directors Apple Music calls Beats 1 the biggest radio station in the world. It boasts that there has never been another station with so many listeners. Apple however, he declines to provide specific numbers.
