Facebook updated Messenger and added the ability to respond to messages. The function is very similar to the one we know from the Messages app from Applu (iMessage). The message response is designed so that users Facebooku could respond with an emoticon without having to type a response. Users can choose from, for example, thumbs up, thumbs down, sad face, smiling face and more.

To add a reaction to incoming messages, press and hold the message and select an emoticon. For those using the competing app from Applu, this action is already known. Reactions also work in group conversations and can be used on text, photos, stickers, videos and more.
Additionally, the update includes the "Mentions" feature. This can be useful for group conversations that have multiple participants. A mention can be sent using the "@" symbol before the name. The person who is mentioned in this way will be alerted by a notification.
