Apple currently offers new 4K and 5K monitors in collaboration with LG. 4K resolution has been gaining more and more popularity in recent months and it is only a matter of time before it becomes the same standard as FHD is today. The 5K resolution offers a little something extra, especially for productive users. At Dell, however, they decided that 5K was not enough, so in January at CES they showed the first commercial 8K monitor, which is going on sale today. If you have a crush on him, prepare a big package (or sell your kidney).

The new 8K monitor from Dell offers a resolution of 7680×4320 pixels (ie more than 33 million display points) on a 31,5″ IPS panel. This means a finesse of a very respectable 279PPI. It's really a very good value for a monitor (the 5K iMac has "only" 217PPI). The panel also offers a contrast ratio of 1300:1, a brightness of 400 nits and full support for Adobe RGB and sRGB gamut. Due to the use of an IPS panel, we can expect bright and vivid colors and excellent viewing angles. For photo and video editors, the coverage value of 98% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum will be important.

To drive that many million pixels, you'll need two Generation 1.3 DisplayPorts. With such a connection, you will reach the native resolution at a refresh rate of 60Hz. If you are interested in everything up to now, all you have to do is prepare a small amount of money. Dell charges $5 for its cutting-edge innovation. It is clear that the price will gradually decrease as it did with 4K and 5K monitors. However, if you want an 8K monitor, no one else offers it yet, and you always pay extra for exclusivity and first access to new technologies.
