Company Apple is working intensively on the annual model iPhone 8, sometimes referred to as iPhone X. Earlier this month, we informed you that the Cupertino company had acquired a patent related to the facial recognition function. And on Thursday, it filed a new patent application that includes other ways the biometric facial recognition system could work.

Patent published Thursday US Patent & Trademark Office and it describes a method of locking and unlocking a mobile device using facial recognition. The patent states that the iPhone's front-facing camera will be used for facial detection and recognition, with the system unlocking if it identifies the face of the authorized owner.

This patent describes two ways a smartphone could be unlocked and locked.oneIf it remains iPhone If the device is stationary for a long time and the camera does not detect the face of the device owner, the system will automatically lock. As soon as it can be iPhone into motion and detects the owner's face, then the system automatically unlocks without the need for a PIN or authorization via Touch ID.

The patent also mentions an infrared sensor that is an integral part of the unlocking process. This sensor detects deviations in the tilt of the device so that it can iPhone detect faces even when moving. The device could recognize faces by displaying a live camera on the screen with a highlighted area where the user must place their face for biometric recognition to work.

This patent is proof that the future iPhone could have advanced biometric facial recognition software.
