Solar charging panel Wodasport WDS-OA-20W it targets users with an adventurous nature who like to go on trips outside of civilization. But even there it's good to have a charged phone or navigation device handy. For charging, most users use a backup battery (power bank). But what about the situation when the powerbank cannot be recharged from the mains, which happens quite often in the wild. There is also an alternative complementary solution – a portable solar panel that is used to generate electricity. energy uses sunlight.
The tested Wodasport WDS-OA-20W model has dimensions of 29 × 17 × 3,5 cm when folded and weighs 599 g. After unpacking, you can expose three solar panels to the sun - each of them has dimensions of 26,8 × 13,3 cm. These panels are inserted into a fabric case, which has dimensions of 58,5 × 29 cm when unfolded, with holes along the edges for attachment with the included carabiners for attaching, for example, to a backpack. For 100% The functionality of the solar charger requires a clear day with sunshine, and unfortunately there weren't many such days during the test (which took place from January to March). In winter, sunlight is weaker, and when snowfall or inversion is added to this, it is not possible to charge the phone directly with this charger, and therefore it is primarily intended for charging a consolidated power source with energy storage such as external power banks. The same applies when it is cloudy.
Although such weather prevailed at the time of renting this charger, several sunny days appeared and we used these moments for a test in external conditions. After setting the panels to the sun's rays and connecting the phone, the battery began to charge. So if you plan trips outside of civilization only during the spring and summer, this model with solar panels will be of good use. If you bring an external power bank, you don't have to rely only on the fact that it will be sunny during your hike, and you don't need to take a break during the day to charge your mobile devices, because it is possible to recharge in the evening in a panel / power bank combination.
There are two USB ports on the back for connecting a phone/power bank: one with an output current of 1 A and the other with an output current of 2 A. The package also includes a cable with a micro USB end and a "apphunting" tooneby which Lightning. There is also a mesh pocket with a zipper. You can carry the power cable in it and you can also insert a power bank or a phone directly here when charging. A charger with solar panels will be an interesting addition to power banks, especially during the spring and summer holidays. The decision is up to each user: Either they can buy a separate solar panel, or preferably a combination of a solar charging panel plus an external battery, for example a solar power bank wodasport 16000mAh with independence from the electricity grid, or buy only an external battery without the possibility of charging in nature.
Why buy: A solar power panel has its advantages and disadvantages. The advantages include that compared to powerbance is not dependent on charging from an electrical outlet, the disadvantage is that it is 100% It only works on a sunny day, as it does not contain a battery. This makes it a very practical addition to standard power banks.
