The CEO of the company, Syh-Jang Liao himself, commented on the topic of production in the USA. According to him, it is possible for Pegatron to manufacture iPhones and iPads in the US, but only if several conditions are met. It responds to the long-term campaign of President Trump, who wants large American companies to maintain (or at least partially return) production back to the USA.
Pegatron would not have a serious problem with this move if there was a genuine interest and a sufficiently high demand. However, the company would demand full financial compensation from the US, in the form of payment of all costs associated with the relocation of production. The company is said to already have some production lines in the US. So the question is how much Trump's ad means by the relocation of production.minilosses seriously, and whether they can offer enough financial compensation to convince companies.
