Have you ever needed to find a specific image, knew its name, but had no idea where you saved it? Spotlight in macOS has a built-in advanced search feature that lets you search across specific file formats and types. For example, you can find all JPEG images that contain the word in the name iPhone. However, the function does not only apply to images. Thanks to this gadget, you can also search for audio, text and other files.

The final notation for this method is very simple and not difficult to remember. First, however, you need to open Spotlight itself, which you can do, for example, with the keyboard shortcut Command + Spacebar. To search for iPhone images in JPEG format, all you have to do is write a command in the form of "kind:jpeg iphone".
In general, the command looks like this:kind:file_format filename". For example, pdf, doc, txt, psd, mp3, aac and other formats you can think of can be used as a file format. The good news is that this search method works on any version of macOS that supports Spotlight.
maybe I'm just tinkering again, maybe my mac doesn't work as it should, but an article in Czech, probably for Czech and Slovak readers, which lists commands in English that don't work in the Czech version of macos, is a bit useless. so if it doesn't work for someone, try typing "druh" in Czech instead of the English "kind". then it can be used quite well.
